Didn't watch the match but looking at the highlights Svitolina seemed to play well? A bit more aggressive than usual. Her thigh is still strapped, maybe she doesn't want to run as much as she usually does Well, she is technically defending SF points so she needs to get a good run here if she wants to remain in the top 10.

Martincova has been in good form as of late - she won 2 matches in both her previous tournaments and gave a good fight in the second set.

It was a satisfactory match from Elina; she missed a lot of of opportunities in the middle of the second set to take a stronger lead but did a good job at the end to close it out in 2. The strapping on her thigh was minimal - looked more like a giant band aid.

svitolina plays aggressive DTLs pretty frequently, especially in early rounds of non-slams, and every poster on TF acts shocked whenever this happens. she is a pusher sometimes but she is not Sorribes Tormo or something who cannot hit a baseline winner to save her life
