I would rather see her on three with two slams too but it's not the way it is

In terms of who is #1 it is undoubtedly Kim.
She won this though very hard work and amazing consistancy on the tour in the last tweve months.

In terms of player quality though it is...
Serena #1
Justine #2 (very close to Serena)
Venus #3 ( even though Justine is 0-2 vs Venus this year)
Kim #4 Plays consistant, but very defensive)
Jennifer #5 (Very close to Kim)
Lindsay #6 (She could be higher if she gets her mental game together.)

The rankings should be like this

1. Serena Williams
2. Justine Henin-Hardenne
3. Kim Clijsters
4. Venus Williams
5. Lindsay Davenport

What's so extraordinary is that Kim still has more points then Justine, while Justine has two results higher then 1000 points AND three tier I's.

So Kim just did well in ALL her tournaments...although Justine did too

the indoor tournament from last year, justine must have passed kim this year also justine has two more tournaments left this year(so can catch more points)

unless kim wins 6 tournaments, it will be almost impossible for her to end the year as number 1 or justine must be resting her injury and not playing the rest of the year

The rankings is at it is!!!!!!

Kim
Justine
Serena
Lindsay
Venus

Theres no way you reverse this order for these players are rank acoording to points gathered.
NOW If you want Serena back at the TOP!! tell her to play more and aquired more points. Theres no guarantee that players who play more will win more.
If you cant play on a regular basis at your best, then you are NOT number one.

Actually, I think you'll find that on sheer ability, (Oh, and silliness of names, which should count for something) the real year-end rankings should look like this:

1. Hanna Nooni
2. Wilawan Choptang
3. Justine Henin-Hardenne
4. Venus Williams
5. Kim Clijsters

LOL @ Serena being no.1.

Justine has 2 slams this year.
Serena has 2 slams this year.

Result: EQUAL

Justine has 7 titles this year.
Serena has 4 titles this year.

Result: Justine wins.

Justine is 2-1 over Serena this year.

Result: Justine wins.

ENOUGH SAID.

Ok Queen Lindsay,

Tell me this:

If it could be aranged fo Kim or Justine to play Serena in a best of seven series of matches one week apart.... Two on hard court, two on Rebound Ace, two on clay, and one on grass.

What do you think the outcome would be???

I would wager that Serena beats Kim 6-1 and beats Justine 4-3.

I gave Kim credit for the #1 ranking. She earned it, and she deserves it.

However, she is FAR from the best player! #4 in my opinion.

How do you explain Serena being number for 57 weeks, but not playing on a regular basis, but playing her best?

I second that except for one little change: I'd still put Venus ahead of Justine. We shall not get carried away by the euphoria of the moment.

Kim wins points cause she plays alot. That is why she is #1.

Yet we all are not surprised when she lost in a slam final because she was not the better player. She is not better than Justine, Venus or Serena. Not with the way they play, cause they are just too aggressive and will win the majority of the time.

Kim will win a slam, but she has to change up on some things.

Serena should not be #1. Justine should be #1. Why? Because she has 2 Slams; more titles this year; and a winning record over Serena and Kim.

Kim is #1 because the plays week in week out. That's it. No offense to Kim or her fans, but she clearly does not deserve to be #1!

Now, if the rankings would show who the best players are, Serena and Venus would be #1, #2. But because they don't play the full schedule, Justine is #1

Please. Justine is the best in the world. Period. Serena is close behind. Then Kim. Then Venus. Thanks.
