The Illawarra Mercury (the Wollongong region paper) did a fabulous coverage of the Fed Cup last year. And it's started again...

Yesterday (Tues 16 July) there was a big colour pic of Alicia kneeling on the beach (fully clothed) and a medium sized article. Here's the link:

Today (Wed 17 July) there is colour pic of Evonne (looking glum, actually), plus a full page of articles and tie details (and a colour pic of Catalina and a colour pic of the Aussie team + Casey + Evonne + Mark Woodforde and the chap who won the Fed Cup comp that the paper was running). And today (Thursday 17 July) there is an interview with Stubbsy (with colour pic) and an article on Fabiola (with quotes from Pratty). But unfortunately no link on the website.

Stubbsy says, among other things, "Just recently playing at Wimbledon on court one and the crowd was going crazy and I thought, this is like Wollongong last year."

[I'm off to Wollongong - so I mightn't be able to post for a few days - but I'll still be buying the Illawarra Mercury!]
