Anyone was watching live? Anything worthwile there during those 1:30h?
I don't know. I stoped watching at the beginning when Sidor and Olejniczak starts mocking Iga because she is more open to talk about her feelings than Nadal or Djoko for example. I miss Synówka, he has proper empathy to talk about women tennis.

We'll see if Miami courts are faster. Right now we can only speculate.

Agreed. There's patronizing vibe in their commentary. Especially Sidor has plenty of witty remarks which perhaps are good for men's tennis, but sounds a bit unpleasant when they are talking about ladies.
Speaking of Sidor, he said Americans respect Iga, but they try to make her life harder by speeding up courts etc. I don't think it's about Iga or any other player, because main American star - and big hope - is Coco Gauff, and she dislikes fast hc. Also USA is a big country, people have all kinds of opinions - e.g. in San Diego Iga was adored during the tournament. You could see during trophy ceremony that bosses are absolutely delighted by Iga's personality and sense of humor. US Open was a bit different last season, because of Serena's retirement - Iga started under the radar, and organizers scheduled her first matches on Louis Armstrong, fastest court out there, also known as graveyard of champions. This may look like plain malice, but it's tough to say if that was the case.

Graveyard of Champions. I like the sound of that.

Also, Cornet could work there as a main gravedigger :oh:

I have not watched it yet but first thing I did was checking if Synówka is in it. I like him so much and quite like Sidor when Synówka is around, but cannot stand the Sidor-Olejniczak duo. Gosh, I just cannot stand Olejniczak, he's such a "wuja Stachu" at the family meeting, so simplistic and yet full of himself. Even his body language is appalling .

Tennis-Number one Swiatek learning to live with target on her back

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (Reuters) – Iga Swiatek said she is growing accustomed to the high expectations and harsh criticism that come with being the world’s top player and is feeling “good vibes” ahead of her title defence at Indian Wells.

It was a year ago at the tournament in the Southern California desert that the Pole began really to hit her stride amid a scorching 37-match winning streak.

Since then, the three-time Grand Slam champion has been the player to beat on tour.

“I feel like there is a little bit of a target on my back, which I didn’t feel last year. So it’s a different situation and I have to adjust to that,” she told reporters at Indian Wells on Wednesday.

“On the other hand I’ve been number one for almost a year so I already have enough experience to deal with it.”

Learning to tune out the critics is another adjustment she has had to make.

The 21-year-old said she was taken aback by the negativity that came with her loss in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships last month after she successfully defended her title in Doha.

“I lost in the final and people were surprised – not happy with the performance – and just critical,” she said.

“It made me think that last year, before this huge streak and before winning all these tournaments, I would have been so happy with the result.

“But because of these comments right now, I felt like ooh, that’s not enough. I’m trying not to read those kinds of things because I’m happy with the work I’ve put in and how I played in Doha and Dubai.”

She said it’s an example of how the world around her has shifted.

“There is more pressure and expectation but I’m trying to deal with that the best way possible,” she said.

“And I think I’m doing good.”

Nothing really new here, but I always like to read Wiktorowski's talks:

As always, for the non-Polish speakers (like me), or readers, as it were, use Google Translate or any equivalent tools.

Iga just did a photoshoot with Xiaomi. Would she really have done that if Xiaomi was a known supporter of Russia's Ukraine invasion?
Who knows? Maybe it's a contractual obligation? :dunno: Anyways, interesting news.
