Btw. I’ve watched the video from the practice with Keys and I think some people are overreacting. It was a typical practice match and both players were making errors, which is normal.
This. Iga's serve was bleh but Maddie wasn't playing good either, just her usual baseball game. Both didn't really try 100% and it's not surprising in yesterday's weather conditions. I mean girls playing qualies were cooked by the end of their matches so why would someone do this to themselves at practice:dunno:. As for practice with Leylah, I haven't seen anything posted by people who were watching them, indicating she did badly and if she did ppl on tennis twitter would deffinitely drag her for this 😅. And coach was talking to her about some technical stuff. Clearly they are adjusting things and it was only her 2nd day in Melbourne.

I think the first day or two at the start of the week Iga was taking it easy and only gradually started practicing. By the end of the week she's likely back to full strength. There's also a very good chance that she will use several courts for practice during any given day.

Seeing as some of you seem to argue with a ghost I don't see, I can only recommend you peruse the ignore function.
As far as I'm concerned, I never use ignore. It's kind of censorship. If you are to function in an open society, you have to accept being exposed to opinions you don't like.

As for the heart of the matter - the results obtained by a player in practice "rivalry" should never be a point of concern, IMO. We have some reasons for unease before this tournament, I mean Iga's sudden collapses in matches against Jess & Aryna... But if you don't find them alarming, you should not by worried by the results of her practice "matches" either.

If Iga pulls through to the Quarterfinals she will probably take the title. It also follows the pattern of her 4th Round always being her hardest/near-hardest. A Collins or Rybakina battle would be par for the course in that round.

She has had very soft R1 all year in all the GS 2022 so this is probably the toughest one in a while. Having played Niemeier in NY she will know what to expect and hopefully won’t start too sluggishly. Apparently Jule is reinventing her serve and hasn’t picked up any win this year yet. She is dangerous for sure and I expect her to end up at least in top20 in her career if no further but Iga should be ready for the challenge. When do we find out which half plays first?

good draw

R1Niemeier-without form,wavering athlete
R2 Osorio-loss=shame
R3 Bianca-without form,capricious,loss=shame
R4 Fishermen Collins have a hard road,=tiredness

Iga from the Bencic match does it easily and I believe that she will be fresh
