Let’s use this thread to post anything regarding Iga’s AO 2023 - social media posts, interviews, press conferences, articles, schedules, YT videos etc. Here’s a post I saw on Twitter from Iga’s practice today:
Supposedly it’s going to be hot there when the tournament starts. I think Iga will handle the heat better than the rest of the players.Speed is probably similar to US Open (i assume it is a little bit slower) and bounce is clearly much higher.
But weather is important too.
Balls are normal so that's good![]()
I remember Rafa talking about it last AO that the bounce was different depending on the time of the day.It will also matter if Iga plays in day or night conditions during the first week.
If I remember correctly Alcaraz lost in a practice session he had with Djokovic 2-6 or something like that and then defeated him in the actual tournament.
Iga practice sets with Keys. They are first there on livestream.
She lost this set (6:3/6:4) if I counting right 😅
And it also did when she practiced with Kontaveit (?) before USO. I would wait until she plays R1 & R2 to draw any conclusions.Serve looked pretty bad in that Keys practise.
I think this deserves a separate thread 😍Read this:

R4 is where she’s most vulnerable, but Collins would first have to get there, second - she’d have to be in good form, which I don’t think she is right now, third - Iga would need to have a worse day. And the 4th factor - the weather and what time of the day they’d be playing, but we don’t know that yet.Just looked at the draw for the first time, she would have to get Collins in the 4th round. 🤦♂️
I’m wondering if there could be an indoor tournament at Torwar or at Tauron Arena. They won't. They will improve what they have at Legia (and it's a nice venue). Maybe in the future they might move it to the indoor arena, when the new indoor arena at Skra will be built, but right now they will stay at Legia.
It’s good she’s starting on Monday, because she’ll play every 2nd day, even in the 2nd week if she makes it that far.View attachment 245239
Iga opens up the night session on Monday. 9am CET for us here in Europe.
I prefer 9am rather than midnight or god forbid 3am or something around that.Iga at 9am morning time in PL
Maybe good for her but for me... 😅
