Heck no! Serena aginst Martina?? nah.. boring! No excitment imho.
VENUS against Martina is the best! Oh the chemistry with these two is so electricfying. Their like Ali and Frazier on a tennis court.. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I would say also VENUS vs Martina.... Cause looks like the really hate each other LOL.....
Serena and Martina are more friends I would say this... but anyway is still a good program..
Or Serena vs Davenport also.. They both has a lot of skills to show, when they played each other. Some kind of Lindsay and Serena that you only will see when they plays against each other, same thing with Hingis vs Venus!

Definitely Venus vs Martina... their matches are filled with so much suspense, they HATE losing to the other more so than to any one else. So they will make amazing comebacks that you'll never expect, amazing shots you would never see any where else. Furthermore, they usually bring out the best in each other, except for the 2 matches this year. They have not played any amazing matches against each other this year, so let us have one at Munich!
Lindsay vs Serena would be fantastic too. They just come up with stuff you cannot ge from any other match. It is not like Martina and Venus where they get to impossible balls. Its the quality here that is amazing. They both hit balls so hard, so deep, many many balls without aither missing, its so amazing. Then suddenly, some one will come up with a winner. It's just the quality of matches here that is nice to watch.
Lastly, Serena vs Martina matches can be great too. It all depends on the day they are playing. Sometimes it is ugly because one just rides over the other, but other times, it is great too.

I have a feeling that Serena and Venus have overcome a milestone. Yes, I remember Oz, but that seems like a decade ago now and I am not so sure Martina is a match for them anymore. I would have to see it to believe it.

Hmmmmmmm I forgot to mention some matches also :
Serena vs Monica : Would be a good one also, Serena used to defeat Monica easily, but now with her winning more and more tournaments, and getting into her best form, Serena could have troubles, and was exactly what happend in L.A. this year. And in Toronto, even the match that ended in two sets, both were very equilibrated... So a rematch with Serena and Monica would be great also.... Very intesresting <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> And a match with sets so, a classic like all Monica and Serena matches are lately

Serena vs Jennifer: Well this match should be the match of the truth, who is better than who... Jennifer and Serena always give their best against each other, in Wimbledon, WOW, they were playing with all their power you could see the intensity in their eyes there <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">, Serena only spent is too much, and Jennifer enjoyed Serena´s moment of weakness, but was one of the best matches of the year. They also are creating a personal "hate" on court, like Venus and Hingis.... Should be awesome watch this match, specially if it goes in 5 sets...... Only dreaming cause I doubt that WTA will re-make this method....

You people are naming the best players against the best players. In those matches, all they do is Serve-return-winnner, or Serve-Ace, or Serve-Return-return-winner.
It gets so boring! In my opinion, I would put Arantxa against Silvia Farina Elia or Nathalie Tauziat. NOW THAT would be some good, interesting tennis with the ball crossing the net at least 3 times on every point!

Monica vs Lindsay (only cos I'd love for them to reach the Chase finals!)
Match-wise, you can't go wrong with Venus-Martina like many of you have said...... even their lopsided matches are drama packed and interesting to me

Lindsay-Serena Massive hard hitting matches, if it is host in US it will be even better, the crowd get so worked up over their matches in previous US Open (remember 1999 semifinal when Serena beat Lindsay 6-4 in the third, 2000 quarterfinal when Lindsay crush the favourite Serena in straight sets and in the 2001 quarterfinal when Lindsay fight back in second set almost earn her the match)
Martina-Venus: This really depends on how fit Martina is and if she can find a way to beat Venus, but during the 1999-2000, when you see that matchup, you are almost deadlock for a classic. Agsin the fighting spirit is never lacking. Who can forget the fatal smash martina make in 200 US Open semifinal which cost her teh match or the incredible down the line by Martina in 1999 US Open.

These two are destined to play each other many many times, but it is a shame that none of them are at a slam final which they so rightfully deserve. I recommned everyone to try get hold of 1991 US Open semifinal between them, it is tennis you never seen before. I would love to see them go to distance in five sets, although Monica fitness is seriously questioned, those two has a special chemistry which always make it a classic.
