Now that Venus is out the path is clear for Jennifer to power through to the semi's for a possible showdown with Justine. It would be a dream for Jennifer to beat her and make it through to the final.

Lindsay is looking simply immacualte at the moment and now, for me, she starts as favourite - I think she will handle Kim, who mightnt be quite on top of it at the moment.

I think it is maybe fate that both sisters are out this year as it gives the oppertunity for two of America's all time greats, whose careers have taken different paths but who have come to their late twenties and perhaps teh latter stages of their careers as multiple grandslam champions, and who will have one final showdown in the final of their home grandslam.

Also, I freakin want Jennifer to end this title drought!!!

PS - I have a real feeling that if somehow Sharapova beats Jennifer in the R32, this could be her huge breakthrough and she could make the semi's and maybe even further.

I also think that Linzi vs Jennifer in the inal would make for a real entertaining and classic match up - lots of hard fought rallies, variety, and lots of wonderful winner - and of course, those devestatingly powerful groundstrokes - esp Jens forehand.

The only thing I don't understand when Jen plays Lindsay is that Jen doesn't use Serena Williams's and Kim CLijsters's tactic against Davenport: MOVE HER AROUND, and you'll win a ton of points.

I have a good feeling that Jen's slump will be erased tomorrow, *crossed fingers*, GO USA!
