Breakthrough tournament for the young former Wimbledon junior finalist?

Hibino up next, so a good chance for both.

Hahaha it really is looking like that random SF run of another Swiss teenager fresh from the Junior Circuit, Rebeka Marasova.

Leo struggled so much mast year due to mononucleosis which she got infected with right after reaching the Wimbledon junior finals. Now she is finally back to decent level, becoming Swiss Champion this year and now this   . She deserves this so much.
I feel like she should try to work on her forehand (like most Swiss players), but other than that, her game is great. Good serve, too!

Keep it up Leonie Küng (DON'T FORGET THE UMLAUT!!)

What a career breakthrough tournament for the new young Swiss Miss. I think Hibino will win their semi final match.

Kung has had an amazing tournament. She is ranked something like 283 in the world and has beaten the first top 100 players she has played in the last 12 months or possibly ever. Most of her matches have been against players outside the top 250. She destroyed Zhu and today she seemed much more composed and mature a performer than Wang - both players had problems with the wind, but Kung made fewer UEs overall. She was also won many key close games, coming back from 3-5 down in the first set and then breaking to lead in the final set.

With this one tournament, she has guaranteed a ranking to get her into slam qualies of the next three slams and she will probably be much more of a fixture on the WTA Tour, at least at qualies level, to start. She certainly has shown the game to compete with WTA standard.
