Serena would win. At this point you look foolish with any other answer.

Please take the time to look at the caliber of players she has beaten in the last 2 months. We are talking about non-competitive matches against the very best players in the world.

During this match I was actually thinking of other sports where one person has separated so much from the rest of the field. Its a very short list.

Serena would win. On clay Graf would stand a much better chance and could even win more often then she lost. Serena's serve is the best EVER in the women's game...against players from previous generations that trumps anything they are bringing to the match.

One thing for sure, nobody STABBED Serena's opponents so she could win as with Graf!!!

Put another way, if you put Steffi in this generation, she would have a better game. She had a great serve but she would have to be better and it would be. She said before that she wished she had a two-handed backhand and she would probably have that plus the slice as well.

She would be a better player.

That is why it is hard to compare different generations.

Sorry, but you have to factor in a knifing and consistently neutralizing slice. Phenomenal movement. Potent, varied serving. And world-class ability to transition from defense to point-ending offense. This is a mature Peak Serena working the percentages, so there would be plenty of chances for Steffi to extend rallies and make it a serious contest.

That's different from 2002 Wimbledon-US Open Serena, whose movement was so stellar that she frequently got into position to launch and hit line-seeking missiles. Graf would have no chance there.
