I have to say that so far, the Willies, Davenport,Capriati, and even Monica are making it much easier for Martina to keep the #1 rank this fall. Of course Martina deserves credit too despite her less than stellar results this year.

Martina might end the year as number 1 if she wins all the upcoming events (with the system of quality points).
And IF I was a girl I might be a WTA Star...
Nothing to do but hoping and praying if you have religion (unfortunately, I don't have).
Not such a big deal (like says Marti) and the positive side is that with all her points lost this year, all the titles she'll win in 2002 will be bonuses. I do believe that if she loses the #1 spot, she will take it back very soon and hold it for months. When she retires, I bet she will break the record of weeks on that throne. <IMG SRC="smilies/wavey.gif" border="0">
yea...i dun really care if she stays number one...but she can always do even poorly next year so she doesn't have any points to defned in 2003...tho ...that is very far from now...
since i do have a religion
i shall pray for her
