So we had 32 Tournaments this year so far and there were 2 Title defenses:
february: Daniela Hantuchova (PTT Pattaya Open - Pattaya City, Thailand)
may: Maria Sharapova (Internazionali BNL d'Italia - Rome, Italy)

Why is it soooo low, women can't play under pressure?? /in men's tour there were 12 title defenses/. And often the defender loses early in the 1st or 2nd round...

It wouldn't change much, but you should do ratio instead of no. of tournaments that happened, since ATP has more tournaments than WTA.

Anyway, ATP is boring, you know Nadal will always win the clay tournaments, with a random loss here or there, Djokovic will win or reach the finals on the hard court ones, so you have at least around 8/10 locks for the year just with those 2.

You're right. Only Hantuchova and Maria have defended their titles.

I think Maria's was harder to defend since it was a P5 tournament and she had a pretty tough draw  So well done :hearts:

Hopefully she can defend Cincy too :yeah:
