I know she is about ready to cry at this point because she really wanted this.
Yep.

However, the bright side is that when she's back 100%
she'll be racking up all those bonus points.

But, yeah,
how far will she drop in the rankings now?

Yes, Amelie now has to get back to the semifinal to get past Venus and she would have to beat Justine to get past Venus and I don't see that happening.

So, Venus won't be back on the courts
until The end of September in Moscow!

I really have no desire to
watch tennis for the next two weeks.

From some of the replies here it is obvious a lot of you are only Williams fans and not tennis fans. How silly. The game goes on with out your faves sometimes. The US Open should be a cracker this year I think with all the players really thinking they have a huge chance, so more effort all round.

Well, it's that demographic that has been giving these tournamnets and sponsorsthe kind of ratings and revenue they've never had or haven't had in quite some time.

You need only look to the
Rolland Garros ratings to
see that fact.

So are you saying that the other players tank because the WS are there, that they don't believe they can win so they don't play their hardest?? If that's the case then they don't deserve the chance to win.

I think that the Martina Hingis fans LEAD THE WAY in whining about how tennis will never be the same again after their beloved ran away from the tour...how no one plays like her blah blah blah.

so I would watch what you say.

It's not so important how far Venus will fall. Obviously she doesn't play for the sake of upping her ranking. If she did, she would ve played much much more this year. It's only her fans who care. I know Venus will be better than her ranking indicates no matter how far she drops. She will crawl back up the ranking anyways after she gets her health back.

I can tell you for sure I am not a whining Martina fan, thank you very much. Stop projecting your insecurities onto everyone else and grow up please. I think you are the one to watch what you say before making a huge generalisation.

Belgium only has 10 million people, and why wouldn't they watch?? Kim and Justine are bothe Belgian. The only country that won't watch their own in full force is America when the WS are playing.

But if you can make it here, (new york, new york) bum bum you can make it anywhere!

"The US Open should be a cracker this year "

Is that some kind of pun?
