Martina N - Martina was the first player I saw play, (on TV), I don't remember which year, but it was a wimbledon final at some point in the early 1980's. I was so impressed by her game that I instantly became a fan and have been ever since.
Arantxa - Liked her game and the way she never gave up.
Magui - In 1998 for my Spanish A-Level oral exam I spoke about Spanish tennis; a Spanish friend gave me loads of info. for this and basically had me telling the examiner that Magui Serna was the next great hope for Spanish tennis. I did remember having seen her play a close match against Graf, I think it was the year before, but I didn't really know that much about her, still I did the exam and predicted great things for her. A few weeks later she beat Mary Pierce at RG, then I went and watched her play live at Wimbledon, (she lost to Davenport). I decided I liked her game and she seemed a nice person. Then in 2000 I went to RG, Eastbourne and Wimbledon with a large group of people. We went to loads of Magui's matches and spoke to her a bit, then came her 2nd round match against Mary Pierce at Wimbledon - we went mad cheering for her, (so crazy that we were commented on by the BBC commentators!

) and Magui Mania was born!! She has a really nice game to watch, when she's playing well, and a really nice personality.
Patricia Tarabini - At RG 2000 we went to lots of Conchita's practices and matches as most of our group are massive Conchita fans. In 2000 one of Patricia friends had come to watch the tournament, 'cos Patricia and Conchita were, of course, busy working a lot of the time, her friend came over and started speaking to us. We made friends and spent a lot of time together in the players lounge, (Arantxa had given my friend and I tickets some days which gave us access there). There we met Patricia and she was just so nice to us and has been ever since. She is such a cool person and she always has so much fun on the court, even though she loses more often that wins, we all became fans - now we will even miss singles matches to go and watch Patricia's doubels and mixed
Vivi Ruano - Again, the first time I really noticed her was at RG 2000. One rainy day we were standing under a covered tunnel talking and Vivi walked past. Gallofa wanted to speak to her so called out, "Virginia". She smiled, came straight over to us and started chatting away, (for ages!). We have been to lots of her singles and doubles matches since then and I have become a fan because she seems to be such a nice person and always smiles, laughs and has fun on the court.
