High Stakes Loss for Kim - Is her Reign Over?

Today's match could have:
*Given Kim her first Grand Slam Title.
*Confirmed her position as World No 1
*Killed her reputation for choking
*Raised her credibility as Queen of the WTA

Instead
*Justine has two grand Slam Titles, Kim has None.
*No-one will see her as the real World No 1.
*Her rep as a "choker" will strengthen, based on her poor performance
*No-one will see her as Belgian No 1.

So is this the end of Kim's short reign as WTA No 1?

No - she is assured of #1 for a few more weeks.

As for how Kim will react - she had the same thing happen in the Roland Garros final, and she bounced back fine. She's been criticized as #1 for weeks now, too, and she has done fine with that.

I see Kim finishing out the year the same way she has played all year.

The reason she will do this is the same reason she doesn't dig deep in these big matches - she just doesn't view tennis as big as others do. Kim doesn't need to win like Justine and Serena do; as Kim has said over and over, she would rather be a good person.
Well, I am glad that Justine won. I think it is great that Kim would rather be a good person. I am sure this is a blessing in disguise. It gives Kim a chance to show people that she is good person even though losing second GS this year to Justine.

I hope Kim never wins a GS, that way she can show people what a good person she is! All the time! Moreover! :D Congrats Kim!!

I'm sure she'd prefer to be a good person who wins slams.

She really needs to play her best on these occasions, and atm, she doesn't.

Good Point! I am sure Serena and Venus are concerned about winning and being good people. Doing more than one thing at a time is possible!

Thanks! You could sense a "little" sarcasm in my post huh? ;)
Now kim fans have had a rough day! Do we really need threads declaring doom's day and how Kim is damaged???

As a JUSTINE FAN I gained a lot of respect for KIM today and enormous respect for Justine against Jenn and Kim.

I vote no to threads like this which do nothing but intensify the pain to KIMMIE fans. :(
What Reign?
