i was having a debate with someone last night regarding Henin's forehand vs her backhand. i always felt like Henin's backhand was her more solid shot (while also getting the most attention from viewers). however her forehand resulted in most of her winners and errors. the person i was debating felt that henin herself was quoted as saying that her forehand was her most comfortable and consistent shot. while i do remember that quote, i think she said that to not give off the impression to opponents that her forehand could be inconsistent.

thoughts?

I think that in her early part of her career, the backhand was the better and more consistent shot. When she reached her peak, the forehand was probably her strongest shot. In the beginning her backhand down the line was awesome. As she got older her cross court backhand was perhaps more effective and consistent.
