VENUS does not have a winning record against Hingis or Davenport yet, but has won most of the last 4-6 matches against these players. Look for VENUS to increase her wins over these two great players.

SERENA should get winning records against Hingis and Capriati, but may never get on the plus side of big sis.

Capriati will have to try and hold off Hingis and SERENA. Forget about Davenport and VENUS.

Davenport still finds SERENA as a major riddle. Her winning record against VENUS will probably disappear as soon as she begins play this year.

Hingis will probably maintain her lead over Capriati, but VENUS will soon get the upper hand and the matches with SERENA may become new classics.

I think Hingis and Capriati will trade wins in the future but I think you need to phrase it the other way around that Hingis needs to hold off Capriati considering Jen has won the last 4.

In official head to head records, are the results from the exhibitions included?

Because The grand slam cup was/is essentially an exhibition tournament. The ITF never recognised it, and the results from it are not included in head to head records. So on the ITF database it has Martina leading Venus 10-7 and Venus leading Serena 5-0.

If we are to included the GS Cup results, wouldn't we have to include all other "exhibition" records. E.g. Capriati d. Hingis at the 2000 Hong Kong tournament?

Just something wondering about... Cause it seems the GS Cup results are almost always included when it was really just an exhibition tournament.

OK i've just checked the ITF database and now they include the GS Cup results... Before I was sure they didn't include it! They have made changes to include the Hopman Cup results too.

But anyway my question still remains.. it was only an exhibition tournament, so how come other exhibition tournaments aren't included? I can think of Mahwah too, that exhibition tournament has been in existence for a long time now.

At first I thought it was because it was a an event ruan as a regular tourney, but just was not sanctioned by the WTA.

And yes, based on SERENA'S age, ability and temperment, I believe an uninjured SERENA will get on the plus side of confrontations with Cusser, er, I mean Capriati.

Venus will always have winning record against Serena, and will have close ones with Davie and Hingis. Hingis is playing better then last year, I think shell win at least one against both Williamses this year.
