Serena has beaten some opponents into the ground. For example Davenport in Indian Wells, Martina at the US Open etc. I was wondering has any opponent ever just knocked Serena off the court.

I am bias. When I think of being blown off the court I think of being overpowered and just plain outhit. Even tho it may of been 6/3 6/3 6/2/ 6/1 I cant fathom Serena being blown away. Maybe making silly errors but not being blown away. Like I said I am so bias. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

lindsay nearly demolished serena at the '98 adidas international, leading 6-1, 5-1 when serena entered the main draw as a qualifier <img src="redface.gif" border="0"> serena was so sad about losing so easily and disappointing venus that she became more aggressive and won the set 7-5 and took the match 1-6, 7-5, 7-5 <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

mary jo bageled serena in a set 6-3 1-6 6-0 in the 3rd round of the french open <img src="redface.gif" border="0">

although i'm sure some of serena's naysayers can probably point out some of serena's disappointing losses <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Yeah I remeber that .. about Mary Jo. Mary should of won a slam.. she was that good. Especially on clay.

Like I said I am bias. NOBODY has ever really blown Serena off the court. seriously.. folks.

As disposable hero said, Mary Pierce absolutely crushed, creamed and obliterated Serena in Indian Wells 2000. Mary was untouchable. It was a sight to behold.

Hope that Mary can get that form back again some day <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> Not to use it on Serena of course, just because she is a good player and is missed!

Anyhow... with those exceptions, I guess its fair to say Serena is a farily tough competitor, huh?

Venus has been blown away more times than Serena has. Not that that happens often either.

Infiniti! I am surprised at you! Giving out ammunition against our favorite.

Now, go and start a thread to make up for your bad behaviour.

How about:

"How many bagels did Serena serve THIS YEAR?"

"How many players ranked below Serena beat her this year?"

"How many players ranked above Serena got whooped by her this year?"

"What player other than Serena served went a whole Set with ever having to hit a second serve?"

"Who beat all 3 number 1 players this year in their last meeting?"

"Who had the most aces at Wimbledon? USOpen?"

<br />You get the point!!! <img src="graemlins/bounce.gif" border="0" alt="[Bounce]" /> <img src="graemlins/lick.gif" border="0" alt="[Lick]" /> <img src="graemlins/lick.gif" border="0" alt="[Lick]" />

Hiya RMC <img src="graemlins/wavey.gif" border="0" alt="[Wavey]" /> heck it's written in black and white so it's not like anyone can't find Rena's win /loss records. Anyway there's a reason I responded to this thread <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> :

They showed that Serena vs. Mary match up here last year, and I think I'd say that's the only time I've seen Serena blown off the court as far as scoreline and it being a matter of her opponent just totally doing everything right as opposed to Serena just having a really error filled day. Mary was really amazing in that match, makes me think just how great her career could be (even more so than what it already is) had she not dealt with injuries etc. When she's on, she's incredible.

RMC you the man..Lol

Serena is not being blown anway at this present moment in time. Heck imho her last two years have been great!

Jonette and Mary who? Blah Serena has never been overpowered in a match never. Mary may have beat her 1 and 1 but Serena didn't get blown away. Getting blown away is what Serena did to Hingis at the US Open. She just hit winners and overpowered Martina. So there..

RMC.. make a post with Serens's wins vrs losses and how many bagels she has given. Last one that comes to my mind is Testud. Although I do like Sandrine.

Dawn: Once again, how old are you? 30? 40? 50?

Your replies are really quite stupid. Randy just wrote that he saw the match between Mary vs. Serena, and he said

and I think I'd say that's the only time I've seen Serena blown off the court as far as scoreline and it being a matter of her opponent just totally doing everything right as opposed to Serena just having a really error filled day. <hr></blockquote>

and then you respond:

Jonette and Mary who? Blah Serena has never been overpowered in a match never. <hr></blockquote>

It is spelled Joannette.<br />And Mary has had a more successful career than Serena, so don't write "Mary who?"

<br />I have NEVER seen TBE, GoSandrine, moon, and other adults write such childish responses like you do.

I was at that match in Indian Wells when Mary obliterated Serena. Take my word, Serena was outplayed, crushed, stomped, overpowered and overall dusted by Mary in that match. It was really one of the most impressive matches I have ever seen.

Joannette has big heavy groundies, when she's on key - its understandable that she could beat an inexperienced Serena 6-1 6-1. <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> <br />GO JO!!! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Also matches she really didn't have much chance to win:<br />'98 some place in Australia to Sanchez Vicario 6-2 6-1, Hingis in end of '98 at Los Angeles 6-4 6-1, Testud kinda in Filderstadt end of '98 6-3 1-6 6-1, '99 Hingis at Rome 6-2 6-2, Likhosteva '00 Melborne 6-3 6-3, Hingis '00 Montreal 0-6 6-3 3-0, Davenport '00 US Open 6-4 6-2, '01 Capriati Miami 7-6 6-1. and her matches w/ big sis Venus unfortunately. Not sure how accurate the scores were but i think they are pretty close to those.
