The most fascinating thing to me it that so many players have done it. And really good players. Navratilova, Graf, Seels, V.Williams, Davenport. Multiple GS winners all. But they all have failed, most more than once, to close the deal when they had the chance.

Tennis is a difficult sport. Non-fans have no idea. Even the very best are not only challenged, but fail.

"Wasted" match point(s) is often inaccurate. When Reggi lost to Sanchez at Wimbledon, Aranxcha won it with a "drop dead" drop shot that was simply stunning! <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

My favorite match point quotes:

Virginia Wade-who had MP in 1980's Wightman Cup<br />vs. Chris Evert, on why she lost the match point:<br />"My shoelaces came untied".
