Monica Seles with 34 wins

Records since Wimbledon:
(not including Hopman, Fedcup, exhibitions, or walkovers, but up to and including Tuesday matches at the Australian Open)

Venus Williams 25-2
Lindsay Davenport 33-4
Monica Seles 34-5
Martina Hingis 23-5
Serena Williams 18-3
Jennifer Capriati 19-7
Kim Clijsters 33-9
Jelena Dokic 31-11
Justine Henin 25-10
Amelie Mauresmo 15-6

Now some may object that Monica played the two lower tier tournaments in the fall and that inflates the number. This is true. But I still think that to win so many matches is impressive, especially since she was just coming back from a big injury.

And look at this stat.
Wins over Players who are currently in the top 10 since Wimbledon

Monica has 8.
The only 2 with more are Lindsay and Venus.

Does it count exhibitions like Hopman Cup?

Hi Viva and ys!
No, those numbers do not include Hopman Cup, either losses or wins.
I also didn't count Walkovers. (eg. Serena d. Lindsay at Munich)
I may have made a few mistakes in math.
i did the math for Amelie, Justine, Kim and Jelena also, but I lost the numbers and don't feel like redoing it. But although Jelena and Kim had a lot of victories in the second half of last year, neither one of them had 34.
(again not including hopman, fed cup or exhibitions)

This an amazing stat. What shocks me though(well not really, it's been obvious for a while) is that the worst statistics are those of the current world no. 1:rolleyes:

Wins over top 10 since after Wimbledon. (This is from memory so correct me if I'm mistaken) (all the above qualifications continued: no hopman cup, no walkovers, etc)

Davenport 11-3
Venus 9-1
Seles 8-4
Serena 7-2
Martina 2-4
Jennifer 2-5
Justine 0-7
Kim 3-4
Amelie 0-4
Jelena 1-8

gs, to be fair to Jennifer and others like Justine, the rankings count 12 months, and I started only after Wimbledon because that's when Monica came back on the tour. Jennifer did win a lot of matches the first half of the year, but she had a pretty poor summer-fall, I guess, by #1 standards.

Absolutly right she has earned enough wins to deserve the no.1 , what this stat points out to me though is that she's not going to keep it for long.

Ok, I did it for a few players:

Jelena DOKIC: 31-11

Kim CLIJSTERS: 27-8

Justine HENIN: 16-8

Elena DEMENTIEVA: 14-11

Winning Percentages:

Jelena DOKIC: 73.8 %

Kim CLIJSTERS: 77%

Justine HENIN: 66.6%

Elena DEMENTIEVA: 56%

Interesting notes:

Dokic has won 4 more matches that Clijsters and lost 3 more.

Dokic has won the most amount of matches out of all 4.

Dementieva has won the least amount of matches and has lost the same amount as Dokic.

Clijsters has the best w/l record.

Thanks Iluvjelena. I've added them to the original post, but changed them a little, because I included the Australian results, just like I did with the other top players.
