BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA (TICKER) -- Fourth seed Rita Grande of Italy again defeated Jennifer Hopkins of the United States, 6-4, 6-2, on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the $110,000 Slovak Indoor tennis tournament.

Grande also beat Hopkins in January to win her first career title at the ANZ Tasmanian International title in Hobart, Australia.

Second seed Anne Kremer of Luxembourg joined Grande in the quarterfinals, but No. 3 Francesca Schiavone of Italy, fifth seed Denisa Chladkova of the Czech Republic and seventh seed Nathalie Dechy of France crashed out of the hardcourt event.

Kremer routed Slovakian wild-card Stanislava Hrozenska, 6-1, 6-3. Ranked 32nd, Kremer will face another local product, Lumila Cervanova, in the quarterfinals.

Kveta Hrdlickova of the Czech Republic rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Schiavone, setting up a quarterfinal encounter with Slovakian qualifier Martina Sucha, who upset Chladkova, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Germany's Bianka Lamade eliminated Dechy, 6-3, 6-4, and will take on Grande in the last eight.

In the other quarterfinal, American Lilia Osterloh faces Italian Adriana Serra-Zanetti. Osterloh battled back to defeat Spaniard Marta Marrero, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-2, while Serra-Zanetti outlasted Greece's Eleni Danilidou, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
