Propi, Main Draw WC were awarded to Adriana González (from Olot, in Girona region and one of our best promises

), Núria Roig (WC from the Catalan Federation, one of the sponsors) and Germany's 16 yo Tatiana Priachin
Play finally started at 4 pm but only top half of the draw was played
Sandra Klemenschits (5) def. Ana Salas 6/1 6/1
Although the match was closer than the result suggests, Sandra (who is as fast as masculine

) was on fire showing an awesome control of the drop shot and making Ana look a bit clueless...
Amandine Singlà def. Elena Vianello 6/4 6/2
While Amandine is a short fighter, Elena is a tall girl that moves quite badly though she can hit nice winners. Overall, two OK players that probably never will get close to the top 100
Katerina Bohmova def. Romina Sceats (WC) 6/0 6/1
Such a boring match between a brit girl that trains in the local club against a Czech junior (skinnier than Dani and with no breasts at all

) who did nothing but wait for her opponent's mistake

It was a bit sad to see that match on a lonely and hidden court of the club with their mums as the only spectators in a cloudy evening. While Katarina's mum looks amazingly like Martina Navratilova, Romina's mum is a very nice lady who stood quietly watching the match...
Eva Fernández Bruguers def. Anna Font 6/4 6/4
This was a good match between Eva, a 17 yo girl from Figueres, a few km away from Girona and Anna, a real beauty from Barcelona. I actually stood quite surprised by Eva's game as it looked as a potential top 100. She's got what it takes, an excellent forehand and a more than decent serve being herself very short. It's hard to believe she's the same girl who was beaten by a Nigerian girl or the one who got only 2 games from a Hungarian qualifier in Turkey

Though focused, she showed a lack of consistency after blowing clear leads in both sets before finally taking them. Anna's game was OK, that kind of game of a challenger level
Marielle Hoogland was leading Liga Dekmeijere 6/3 0/2 when I had to leave
That was a high quality match of two players with very good technique. Marielle displayed a flat and attacking game that Liga was managing to control with a great defense and a fine net play. All the dutch players were there cheering for Marielle. BTW, Liga is phisically just like Tatarkova
Nina Egger was leading Covadonga García Calvo one set up and 3/1 in the second when I had to leave
Didn't see much of this match as it was boring as hell and not really high quality
Tomorrow are scheduled the remaining first round matches and all the second round...but as it looks like the weather is gonna get even worse than today I won't go. Better save energies for next week
