Giant slayers (vs. top 10) but never ranked in top 15

After the match Siegemund vs. Andreeva, I went and checked how many top-10 wins does Siegemund have, and it wasn't that spectacular (13), considering how long her career was. I went and checked Putintseva and Mertens, very similar numbers.

Of all the active players who were never in the top 15, by far the highest number of top 10 victories was achieved by Sorana Cirstea, 24, and she was never even ranked in the top 20 (CH #21). In the second place it's Donna Vekic with 17, the same as her CH. Are there any other notable giant slayers, and why were they never ranked inside top 15?

Specifically in my GIANT SLAYERS CLUB on this forum you can only get in SLAYING TOP 5. Players that SLAY World # 1 or World # 2 automatically become VIP monthly calendar girls in my GSC. Currently, there is only 1 Miss October VIP calendar girl for this month as of now. It is Emma Navarro for SLAYING World # 2 Iga Swiatek in Beijing. 💪 LOL

Interesting analysis. The ratio for Siegemund is still extremely high. If I understand correctly she is basically at 50% win rate against Top10 ... That's massive. I would expect such a number from a top Top10 player.

Giorgi has 17 with a CH 26 and at 35.4% win rate stands out among players with more than 12. Siegemund's results are up there for such stats, 13-25 34.2% CH 27.

I remembered the Halep win, but not the Haddad Maia win. Unfortunately for Snigur, no player currently in the top 10 has a last name beginning with ‘H’ and/or been convicted of doping when she played them. That seems to be a magic recipe for her :oh:

Pironkova (once ranked #31) had a total of 12 top 10 wins.

For comparison Naomi Osaka had her #13 and #14 just recently (2024 and 2025 US Opens).

^ Nah, too lazy. I don't get paid for doing this. :ROFLMAO: Too invested in my Toronto Blue Jays right now. I usually make updated posts when the SLAYINGS happen after the matches.

VIP Calendar girls you just have to look up who SLAYED the World # 1 and World # 2.

1. Aryna Sabalenka

2. Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek

Maybe she doesn’t quite qualify for this thread' but Kaja Juvan (CH #58)'s been something of an upset artist. Only 2:5 vs top 10' but 5:7 vs top 20' has wins over Sabalenka' Plišková' both Bencic and Haddad Maia at Wimbledon (the latter coming having gone W-W-SF in grass warmups that year)' and some other good players.. Decent stuff for a sub-top 50 competitor.

Well Donna was never really fit to the maximum and during her biggest successes she was always reasonably fit. Soon after she would get injuries or loss of motivation.
She also lacked better mentality to achieve higher ranking.
