This young talent has perhaps been overshadowed by fellow 14 year old, Maia Lumsden. While Gabby doesn't have the one stand out result to match Lumsden's victory at Teen Tennis, she has consistently performed well in Tennis Europe events, making her one of the best 14 year olds in Europe. This week she played a grade 1 event, losing in the quarterfinal to a local Romanian girl. She has yet to venture into ITF junior events, but I can't wait to see her progress!

Gabby is in the final of grade 1 Tennis Europe event in Czech Republic. She hasn't really been troubled yet and faces fellow Brit Maia Lumsden in the final. Great to see them both doing well.

Gabby helped GBR win the European Summer Cup, as they defeated Germany in the final. She's continuing this good form by making her ITF debut at the Edinburgh G5 event.

So that Gabby, or is it Gaby--the article has both spellings--doesn't feel left out, here's today's LTA story on the Wolrd Junior Tennis finals: http://www.lta.org.uk/News/2012/August/2012-08-13/Great-Britain-14U-Girls-progress-to-final-of-ITF-World-Junior-Tennis-Finals/

A story notable for featuring more prominently a player long ineligible for this than any of this year's heroines.:(

EDIT: the follow up, there's a spoiler in the URL: http://www.lta.org.uk/News/2012/August/2012-08-13/Great-Britain-14U-Girls-finish-as-runners-up-at-ITF-World-Junior-Tennis-Finals/

Gabi is through to the semi of the junior Orange Bowl 14s without dropping a set.

Enjoying a goulash as she sees off Galfi in the quarter and faces Stollar in the semi.

A hugely impressive win over Galfi, and so easily too (61 63). I would give Gabby the edge over Stollar although she has been impressive in these US tournaments.

Into the final with an easy 60 62 win over Fanny Stollar! She's been so impressive this week! And to make things better, she faces friend and fellow Brit, Maia Lumsden, in the final. May the best girl win.

Gabriella is playing her first tournament of the year, a grade 2 junior event in South Africa. She won her first round match in straight sets and in the second round faces a player whom she beat in their previous meeting at the end of last year.
