S1 Fed Cup

Here will be the information and team formations of the Fed Cup event, which will take place the week following the Year-End Championships. It will be a week long event, and the schedule will be made later on. It will be a single-elimination draw format, and seedings will be based on combined ranking points of each team. Teams will consist of two players from the same country. However, for those countries that have only one representative, the players are allowed to combine with other lone representatives from other countries. Here is the list of players separated into countries:

Confirmed Teams:
Australia*
Jelena Dokic
Alicia Molik

China
Zi Yan
Na Li

Belgium
Kim Clijsters
Justine Henin-Hardenne

Russia #1
Anastasia Myskina
Svetlana Kuznetsova

Russia #2
Anna Kournikova
Alina Jidkova

USA #1
Lindsay Davenport
Jennifer Capriati

USA #2
Serena Williams
Venus Williams

CzechoSlovakia
Daniela Hantuchova
Nicole Vaidisova

The NetherCroatia
Michaella Krajicek
Karolina Sprem

Swerbia
Patty Schnyder
Ana Ivanovic

Italialand
Silvia Farina Elia
Marta Domachowska

SEEDS
CzechoSlovakia – 7643
USA - 5239
Australia – 3586
NetherCroatia - 3493
China - 3225
Belgium - 2633
Swerbia - 1577
Russia - 1571

Points will be done the new way, meaning there will be tiebreak points instead of having a 13th number in each set. Each player will have 10 points to distribute into 3 sets, and these points will be the “tiebreak points.” Here is an example of how points should be sent:

Set 1: 01-02-03-04-05-06-07-08-09-10-11-12 TB: 2
Set 2: 01-02-03-04-05-06-07-08-09-10-11-12 TB: 5
Set 3: 01-02-03-04-05-06-07-08-09-10-11-12 TB: 3

And the tiebreak scores will be done like this:

If the players send equal points, there will be a coin toss and the score will be 7-6 (11).
If a player wins a set by 1 point, they win the set 7-6 (9).
If a player wins a set by 2 points, they win the set 7-6 (7).
If a player wins a set by 3 points, they win the set 7-6 (5).
If a player wins a set by 4 points, they win the set 7-6 (3).
If a player wins a set by 5 points, they win the set 7-6 (1).
If a player wins a set by 6+ points, they win the set 7-6 (0).

This will be good practice of sending points for next season, as points will be done this way, with the exception of the grand slam events, which will be done another way to be explained later.

For now, please make teams based on countries :)

Well since I know that Gajdosova won't return (I don't really care to play with her anyway), do you want to be the Netherlaks, Michaella? :p

Would Hantuchova want to join together with Nicole Vaidisova as part of a team?? Then maybe we can get a 3rd person?? (Michaella if you want)

Well I was thinking 2, but if you want three, then it would have to be:

2 Singles Players
1 Doubles specialist + 1 single player = 1 Double team  If you want to do it like that...

That would be great. Perhaps we could have:

Daniela/Nicole/Michaella/Silvia

Or maybe...

Player 1 plays 2 singles matches
Player 2 plays 1 singles match and a doubles match
Player 3 plays 1 singles match and a doubles match

That might be too wierd though.

2 players will be fine.

Dokic is suffering from exhaustion and would like to let Alicia Molik carry the flag for Australia in the Hopman Cup competition the week following the Federation Cup, if she so chooses. :wavey:
