Maria arrives in Shanghai
Maria Sharapova arriving in Shanghai to a crowd of 3,000 fans awaiting to see the new beauty on the tour.
Maria has arrived in Shanghai today, she got to the airport at 8.30 in the evening local time. Maria flew from Detroit to Tokyo and then finally to Shanghai.
Maria Sharapova played in Bali last week and unfortunately lost in the early rounds once again.
This week Maria is playing both singles and doubles and in the first round og singles she plays Jelena Dokic. "I dont think I have played her before, shes a very good consistent player on the tour and it will be hard for me to beat her with the form ive been having lately."
Despite the early round loses last week in Bali for both the singles and doubles events Maria is still feeling confident about the way shes playing and hopes to do better this week. "Last week was good, it was badluck for me to lose that match against that asian girl, and in the doubles well what can I say? Petra Mandula cant play for peanuts
".Maria this week has entered the tournament in doubles with Mary Pierce. "Yes, this will be a great week for me in doubles, I dont play doubles to often because im not to good at it, but hopefully I can go well this week with Mary..... Shes umm a really fine lady."
This is Maria first appearance in this tournament and shes already attracting a big group of fans that want to see her go to the very top of the tour and win those big titles. Unfortunately her first season on the tour has been relatively good as shes the best ranked newcomer by far, but ever since Wimbledon its been all down hill for this young sexc, lanky great playing russian. "Well im not fazed at all, since Wimbledon Ive goen through some major changes in my game and I just havent found the right combination yet, but its coming along very well and Drew makes me soo proud. My fans are just WOW {laugh} I cant describe it, they are really amazing... I have soo many people supporting me in these tournaments, I just feel like im playing a home country tournament as they are that great to me.

Maria Practices for Shangai match against DOKIC

Maria Sharapova who only arrived in Shangai early yesterday is already out on court practicing for her match against Jelena Dokic which is scheduled to be played on tuesday.
"Im hitting the ball very well and im very happy with the way practice went today. It was very annoying though, I had alot of camera people there taking photos of me and all I want to do is practice my game.... so I blocked it out and went about my business."
One of the most popular and beautiful players on tour Maria Sharapova has only recently made the big scene in womens tennis. Unfortunately her year soo far is not up to her expectation or her coaches and they hope Shanghai this week can be the platform for Maria to reach her destined career heights of becoming a top 10 player on the FWTA tour and a major title contender.
"Yes, you need to start somewhere and lately in those littler T III tournaments I just havent been prepared to play these long matches and win them. This week we are working around my normal schedule to try some new things out, this season is nearly over and im not that bothered about my results so much. Its next year I really need to concentrate on and perform very well."

The Shanghai doubles draw has nto been released yet, but Maria is playing with a very experienced tour player this week, Mary Pierce.
"Oh Mary, I havent really spoken to her much lately... umm but I think we are going to do really well in doubles. Ive been training hard and shes been I dont know probably she has some injury, maybe you should ask her. We are going to do well this week in both singles and doubles I hope."

Maria Sharapova pulls through over Jelena Dokic
Russian Maria Sharapova hitting a backhand past Jelena Dokic
"This match has to be one of my hardest matches ever on tour, and I think I have finally got some form back. Although im very tired from this hard match that went for 3hrs 17minutes, im very happy and quite emotional that I pulled through it under the conditions that we played under today."
"This match had its ups and downs, the crowd really got into it and no one could really tell who was going to win. It was just soo soo hard and I put 110% today to pull through this match."

"I won that hard first set, then I went down in the second 5-7 after serving for the match at 5-4 up, then i lost concentration as I was really angry with myself and was down 1-3 in the third with Jelena serving for a 4-1 lead on me and I just knew i had to pick my game up and FIGHT 
and it all came together well."
"I won both tie-breakers, im very happy with that. When I have been playing match practice, lately Drew has been getting me to practice the tie-breakers as they are the most crucial points in a match sometimes

"Im very happy to win two matches in the main draw again. To come back from 1 set down after yesterdays long match with Jelena was very hard for me, but im strong enough and I pulled through it."
"I made far too many errors in that first set, but in the second I got my game together and in the 3rd set it was another battle and luckily I pulled through it in anohter hard tie-breaker."

Sharapova finally meets FWTA tour directors

With Maria Sharapova into the 3rd round of Shanghai, the FWTA tour directors came along to meet Maria why they still could along with another player on the tour Rika Fuj; and Jakub (The tour helper).
They were pleased to hear that there biggest fan attraction player was still in the tournament of both singles and doubles and they didn`t waste the oppurtunity of meeting her once again and wasting her time.
"Its was very boring meeting up with those players and once again you can all see Rika had to be involved with meeting me since I wont talk to her when I see her. Carlos is a very nice person, always smiling and soo polite, Alberto was grumpy and soo very old, he would always give me these funny looks, but I didn`t understand why
Jakub is nice aswell.""They were all very boring, but it was finally great that I got the oppurtunity to meet them all at once and have lunch with them. I couldn`t help it but think, why does Rika look like that? then I realised it was Rika is disguise."
"We spoke a little about my matches tomorrow and as I said to them, im very happy with my form and hopefully I can continue it tomorrow for both singles and doubles, I really like playing with Mary, shes a fantastic girl

It's not my fault and and it's not other player fault in the 1/4 that we have 3 owners here - (one is creating stupid rules and 90% didn't see this rules
It's yours problem (owners) not players problem and this event should go on.
I think both teams Domachowska/Lucic and Prakusya/Harkelroad should go out and Pierce/Sharapova should be in the 1/2.
