Re: Early Entries at Pan Pacific Open

Hmm strange
the website has published a full entry list for 2008 already, when it isn't expected for weeks. It is certainly this years list because players like Morita and kleybanova didn't play last year

No Serena either  although there is a spare wildcard

Why? What's the point of playing 2 tournaments at the same exact location with only 2 weeks seperating them?

In the past, there was the 2 different surfaces : indoor carpet & outdoor carpet. Plus there was over half a year seperating when they were played.

This leaves Martina as the last true winner of tht Tokyo PPO. :)

It sucks, is there any WTA tournament that use carpet nowadays.

GL to Kimiko. :)
Paris and Zurich are listed as being greenset indoors on the Wta website. Does that count?

It was worse back in 2000. Tier II and Tier III held on consecutive weeks at the same location.
