McNeil Named Assistant U.S. Olympic Tennis Coach

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (June 30) -- Former pro Lori McNeil was hired Wednesday as an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic women's tennis team.

McNeil played doubles on tour with head coach Zina Garrison, who's also the captain of the U.S. Fed Cup team.
McNeil reached the semifinals at the U.S. Open in 1987, and Wimbledon in 1994. She won 10 singles and 32 doubles titles during 19 seasons on the WTA Tour, reaching a career-high ranking of No. 9 in 1988.
