DAY 06 SCORES: FINAL ROUND ROBIN TALLY

@Crux Squall still leads the field after garnering the highest score in both groups! The only one to predict 3-0 records for Svitolina and Stephens!

FINAL FOUR SCENARIOS

Four players are still in contention for the championship.

Svitolina makes the final or wins against Bertens in the semis: [5] @Crux Squall wins his second YEC title.
Bertens wins title: [14] @happydayhk wins his second YEC title.
Stephens d. Bertens: [Alt] @Poltergeist wins his first title since Zhuhai 2016, and as Poltergeist. :eek:h:
Pliskova d. Bertens: [11] @[email protected] wins his biggest career title.

Basically, the winner can be determined in as soon as the semis between Svitolina and Bertens.

Best of luck! :hatoff:

With a Stephens vs Svitolina final, @Crux Squall wins :worship: While I am ONCE again a bridesmaid  I honestly should have followed my gut with predicting the mess of Svitolina to make the final, like I did in my interview :eek:h: (*cough* predicted 3/4 SFist in the interview *cough* )

Many thanks to the amazing manager who takes the game to another level :worship: I hope this game doesn't lose you :awww:

SEMIFINAL ROUND SCORES

Whatever happens in the final, we have our champion! Well done on the second YEC Singapore title, @Crux Squall! That was some brilliant picking all the way from the round robin!

Hats off to @Poltergeist as well for sticking to Stephens! :hatoff:

The overall final ranking stays the same regardless of the title match result. If Stephens wins, Crux Squall will have won the title by just 10 points.

Im curious, had the pts reflect real life pts for Singapore, would the W and RU still be the same? :eek:h:
so like if we got 250 pts for every RR correct pick and 125 for a miss etc etc

If anyone would know it's you

Because 10 pts would just be heartbreaking, it's better if Svitolina wins tomorrow or I would eat myself for believing in Kvitova and Osaka so much :tears:

The hypothetical result will obviously be different, for the obvious reason that the WTA point distribution is heavily skewed to the winner. And there's no point giving RR scores to the loser picks here.

so if Stephens wins I would have won right?

honestly, I think that's how it should be too, not to mention how difficult it is to predict a winner generally, let alone at the YEC

no shade towards anyone, but how does it look like that you can pick the correct winner and not win the title? I think that's only possible in these year end tourneys and it should change imho :nerd:

Predicting the winner is not the purpose of this game. Of course someone who predicted the winner of tournament has and should have big advantage over the other who didn't but doesn't mean he/she should be the winner of this game. Why do we post picks for each match if the purpose is just to predict the winner?

Someone could have had only 3 correct picks predicting the winner 2 years ago when Cibulkova won YEC. Should he be winner of game if someone had something like 8-9 correct RR picks plus a semifinal pick?

Congrats for being runner up here and congrats to @Crux Squall for winning. Also congrats to all the rest who made to be here and of course aerosmash for the great management

What you are talking about here are really big margins and ofc that person with so many good picks in earlier rounds should win ;)

I was comparing how 2RR picks are worth 10 pts more than a correct winner pick, which imho is not nearly as big of a margin, and should not happen :nerd: especially in such an unpredictable tournament such as a YEC

Re: FITD WTA Finals Singapura ☾✫ Last roar in the Lion City!

*sigh*

HERE WE GO AGAIN...

MANAGER'S RANDOM RAMBLINGS

1. Again, only the Top 16 (plus Top 17-20 as alts) in the Race can participate in this game. However, non-qualifiers are, of course, welcome to post their thoughts and well-wishes in this thread. We need ratings and crowd of spectators as well. :eek:h:

2. Qualifiers (and alternates) will all be notified through tagging and PM. After that, you're on your own. :nerner: You have no excuse to miss this other than your own doing. If you still fail to submit your draw, I'll gladly hand your spot to the next alternate who, I'm sure, will be excited to vulture those free 95 points minimum and have a shot at the title. :bigwave:

3. Since this is a different format, I strongly advise every player, especially the YEC debutantes, to study and review your entry before posting. If in doubt, feel free to ask questions. Remember, you can only submit once, unless there's a withdrawal, for which you're allowed to submit again once at maximum.

4. I have the same timezone as Singapore, so I will do my best to post the updates as quickly as possible. Check this link for the current local time --> Current Local Time in Singapore

5. I notice that this happens like every year. But this is not the thread for airing your grievances over the format and scoring rules of the game. As much as I personally concur with the opinion that some aspects of the Finals have flaws, I can only do so much. If you've got any ideas on how to improve the Year-End Championships or FITD as a whole, you are more than welcome to post them here: 2019 FITD Suggestions Thread

6. This is my 22nd FITD management (between TF and MTF) and 1st time running a round-robin format. If I have mistakes, don't hesitate to PM me.

Best of luck everyone! :wavey:

Your manager,

RJ / aerosmash
