Scheduled in July after Wimbledon the Fed Cup Tie between Australia and Columbia will be played here.

Hoping that Alex, SM etc. will be able to attend and report all the news!

I assume its being played on grass.

Columbia wont be too difficult. They will be spearheaded by Fabiola Zuluaga and Castano.

If Mireille Dittmann can thrash Castano on grass at Wimbledon like she did last year then Molik and Pratt should both beat her in straight sets too!

God only knows who they will put up in doubles as Fabiola rarely plays. Given though that the tie is right after Wimbledon Fabiola should at least be as well prepared as possible.

Australia though did get an easy tie this time!

Why do you think it will play on grass? Where will it held in around Wollongong? The same venue as last year (WIN Entertainment)? ;)

I just assumed it was grass Alex, you would know more than me since you went last year. I would have thought Hardcourt would be too much in Zuluaga's favour, she does pound the ball!

If it's hardcourt that could be a worry...Fabiola is certainly capable of beating both Alicia and Nicole, so I don't know why they don't just go with grass where it's a much safer bet

That's true but I would like to see Fabiola's fine form on Hard rather than playing crap on Grass

Fabiola is not guaranteed to win both her matches, just like the Aussies aren't guaranteed to win 5-0!!
