Group A
France
Russia
Hungary

Group B
Australia
Belarus
Belgium

Group C
USA
Spain
Slovakia

Group D
Czech Republic
Germany
Switzerland

Group D is the group of death if all the top players play, lol. Group A is the weakest imo.

Yes, group A is the weakest. France was very lucky and has a bye into SF. Very easy

The other groups are all very good :)

Spain (this is on clay) could be dangerous for USA in group C.

Group B and group D should be some battles :D

Keothavong is going to try and persuade jo to play but it’s right before the clay season where Jo has so many points to defend won’t be easy. Having said that Dart and Watson should still beat Mexico.

A great draw for Poland. Brazil, and at home too :D
GB got the luckiest draw with weak Mexico, but must travel to Mexico.
Serbia against Canada. I wish Jankovic would play. Canada is the clear favourite.
A home tie for Latvia  But I hope not against dangerous China ...
Ukraine must travel to Japan. I really hope ALL the best UKR players will play the important tie!
KAZ must travel to Argentina  But should be an easy win.
Romania vs Italy is the most interesting tie for me. A tricky opponent for Romania!

One would hope so because Mexico's players are hardly household names.

What am I missing? Russia with Nasti and Sveta is a weak team? Or you suppose they will play final with their C grade team like in Romania?

Russia in full strength, that's easy peasy semifinal spot. :sneaky:

France (Mladenovic) peaks in Fed Cup. And has maybe the best doubles with Mladenovic.
(And in this format doubles is more important. I think they play only 3 rubbers, 2 singles + 1 doubles.)

Yes, I doubt that Pav and Kuz will play.
And Pav only peaks in Australia (Aus Open).

Kudermetova just lost to Bogdan and Cristian in Fed Cup

And no comment about Hungary. lol
Very lucky for France and Russia that they drew the WC.

We will see who will play for Russia and if they can stop very successful France ;)

What surface are they using in Budapest
Clay. lol
Perfect for French Open champion Ash Barty.
Also perfect for Spain (Navarro). They could surprise.
And horrible for the poor Czech girls (Kvitova and Karo Pliskova).

The new Fed Cup format is terrible for the Czechs.
No ties at home in Czech Republic anymore + the finals on clay in Budapest.
So much for the Fed Cup dominance of the Czech girls. The new format completely killed it.

I also wonder how the atmosphere will be in Budapest ...
At Fed Cup home ties the atmosphere was wonderful, especially in CZE (Prague).
But on neutral ground ? I guess less fans and worse atmosphere.
