She could have won this one much easier, but on the other hand a breadstick from Duan wasn't out of question either.

I'm dreaming of the day Sorana can play through a match without a blip. At the start of the year she had the tendency to oversleep the start of the match, now she is losing focus after the first set finished...

She beat Cornet not long ago, however I hope she won't have to retire above all.

That second set was much more competitive than the score reflects.

Still your usual Sorana with great serving and ball striking, but little till no consistency, a pity.

Robson played very well, though.

First of all she has to beat Morita and I've just seen that she only dropped 6 games in 2 meetings against the Japanese so far. She should easily overpower her as long as she keeps her error margin low.

And against Kerber it will mostly depend how Sorana plays, like all matches she plays are on her racket.

And even though she hit too many errors, the reasons this time were different.

It's not that she just bashed the ball without purpose for the whole match. Yes, she still does it on the return too often, but many errors were caused by her opponent playing a good match and giving her too much pace and length to handle in the long run. Even though she is still too inconsistent you can see that her shot selection is improving steadily. She knows which shot to play, but her poor movement is one of the reasons that hinder her from execution. The other is that she still has that intention to consistently outhit her opponents. So, she simply overcooks. She needs to regulate and control her shots.

You could say that she is actually heaving all the weapons, but still needs some time to sort it out and experience to know her borders and possibilities.

Shit like that always has to be taken into account with her.

She's currently #9 on the Linz entry list after Vinci withdrew, but best friend Ivanovic can't live a week without her support and took a wildcard.

So, let's hope Azarenka will win Beijing, because I really can't imagine her playing Linz a few days afterwards then.
