Apparently somebody just heard on Eurosport France that Amelie has withdrawn from New Haven and her status will not be sure for the US Open.

Has anybody else heard that?

I am going to try and call the tourny 800# to get more info.

Guess we will find out soon enough for sure. Tourny may not be at liberty to say. Of course they still want to sell tickets, so they may wait to announce, (if it is true). Seems odd that Euro Sport would say it if there was not any thing to back it up. Amelie did receive treatment in her Qtr - but I did not hear about anything serious.

I think she cant take the fact she was beaten by a player she beat 6-0 6-0 the previous time they met

Amélie is having problems with her lower back again (especially when serving). This was the reason for her injury time-out while playing Elena on Friday.

Feel really bad for her. Such a talented player who has been hit with so many injuries. Hope she can play the US Open.

Her ranking would take a beating, but that's better than having her fubar her back and miss a couple of months.

I just checked all over and I don't see any news of her withdrawl (especially on the Eurosport weebsite).
