The Elite Tennis Association Official Rules and Information

Here are the tournaments we will be playing. In order to get this game rolling, we’ll start at Toronto, Canada, and keep on playing through the off season. We’ll follow the 2002 WTA schedule, when the new season starts. These events that we are playing now the points that will be accumulated, we’ll come off during the normal season, as if they were played when the actual events were played. Is that clear? Ask questions if you’re unsure.

October 22 Rogers & AT&T Cup
October 29 Pilot Penn Tennis
November 5 US Open
November 12 Brasil Open
November 19 Toyota Princess Cup
November 26 Ladies Kremlin Cup
December 3 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
December 10 Swisscom Challenge
December 17 Generali Ladies Linz
December 24 Sanex Championships

December 31 Gold Coast, or the highest ranked tier event played during that week

Each player will first rank their surfaces in order of their preference.
The surfaces are Hardcourt Outdoors, Clay, Grass, and Hardcourt Indoors (Carpet, Supreme, Greenset)

First surface 103
Second surface 102
Third surface 101
Fourth surface 100

Then each player will break their amount of points, 100-103 depending on the surface, over three sets.
For example:

Set 1 30
Set 2 40
Set 3 30

This is how the scores of matches will be determined

Let x = the difference in points between you and your opponent

If x is greater than 50, the set is 6-0
If x is less than or equal to 50 but greater than 40, the set is 6-1
If x is less than or equal to 40 but greater than 30, the set is 6-2
If x is less than or equal to 30 but greater than 20, the set is 6-3
If x is less than or equal to 20 but less than 15, the set is 6-4
If x is less than or equal to 15 but less than or equal to 10, the set is 7-5
If x is less than 10, the set goes to a tie break, with the person with more points winning. The score is determined by x. If x=3, then the score is 7-6(4)

A tie break occurs when both players have the exact number of points!
Tie breaks are determined by flipping a coin. One player will be assigned heads, the other player will be assigned tails. The first person to reach 7 heads/tails, wins the tie break, or if the tie break goes past 7, whoever wins by two.

I have decided that its probably more fair if each player announce their surfaces. So attempts at cheating and foul play are reduced!

Put your surfaces in this thread!

Big Lindsay! You can still play, you'll be our 30th player, and that way we'll almost have a PERFECT 32 player draw!

In addition to the players named already these are other players that are taken already Anke, Barbara, Tammy, Angelique, Rachel McQuillan, Elena L, Mary Pierce, and Iroda!

Still plenty to choose from!
