2001 ETA Ladies Kremlin Cup<font=size><font size=2><font=size>
The ETA Tour descends on Moscow, Russia, for the second Tier I of the season. The Ladies Kremlin Cup will be held in the Olympic Stadium on Supreme Indoors surface. The tournament features a $1.22 million dollar purse, and valuable rankings points heading into the season ending Sanex Championships in Munich. Defending champion, Martina Hingis, has arrived already and has started practicing for the first indoor event on the ETA tour.
The Russian fans will be happy to know that there are four Russians in the draw, Anna Kournikova, Natasha Zvereva, Elena Dementieva, and Anastasia Myskina. Wildcards went to Swedish No. 1 Asa Carlsson, Czech No. 2 Daja Bedanova, and veteran champion Pam Shriver.
This prestigious event will feature a 28 player draw, with the top 4 seeds receiving byes. The winner of this event will be almost guarenteed a spot into the prestigious 16 player season finale. With only one Tier I left after this event, its crunch time. Either win or go home. <br /> <br />
