Mostly a good list but I'd make some tweaks based on dominance, longevity, and impact.

I'd say:
1. Serena
2. Venus
3. Henin
4. Sharapova
5. Swiatek
6. Clijsters
7. Osaka
8. Kerber
9. Capriati
10. Barty
That’s the list I would have.
I can’t believe they left Jen off, in favour of Mauresmo :unsure2:

I’d probably have Kim above Iga just now though, on account of her better overall slam results.

Barty was better and far more dominant than Osaka... but Osaka in a good head space probably beats her in 3. It's tough between those two...
Barty. The girl was literally relevant for 2 1/2 of the shittiest years the WTA will ever have. I saw her autobiography on Amazon under animal wildlife, cause she was the ultimate vulture. Then I saw it under social studies for her abuse of crazy people and bums in the later stages of Slams.

Where the hell is Capriati anyway? She could snort the whole coke stash of Colombia and would still pummel Barty.

Wow. That was a loaded statement.

It is no secret Osaka suffers from inconsistency and has an anxiety disorder. Sometimes her demeanor on court gets her booed wildly. It's tough to compare barty the rugby playing workhorse who wins when she should and loses when she should and Osaka who did the opposite for several years. It's not Barty's fault Osaka stopped playing well. Their h2h is 2-2. Osaka has way more raw talent, but barty was so dominant at number one announcers were saying she could beat a team of doubles.

The right players are on this list (maybe except Mauresmo). And that's a good thing. Could be different because it's ESPN... Strange things happen there. But yeah, small changes in the order could also be made here and there. Details. Overall the weight and impact on the game of these players from 1-5 and 6-10 is correct (5 slams titles makes the cut).
The small changes:
1. Serena
2. Henin
3. Venus
4. Iga
5. Sharapova
6. Clijsters
7. Barty
8. Osaka
9. Kerber
10. Capriati

Justine should be 2nd or tied with Venus. Sharapova is not ahead of her by any metric and has a losing head to head with Justine. Justine won 43 titles and Sharapova has 39. Justine won 7 slams and Sharapova won 5. Justine spent 117 weeks at world number one whereas Maria spent 21 weeks there. Justine has a gold medal. Maria has a silver medal. Juju Leads the head to head 7 to 3. Case closed.

That's the lazy kind of list that was to be expected of today's slam counters. Because that's all they are doing. Also, to which century does someone belong whose career is half in 20th century and half in 21st? (Let's say more than half in 21st is counted as 21st)

In my opinion, should be... (That's all by the numbers, not personal preference)

1 Serena Williams
2 Henin
3 Sharapova
4 Venus Williams
5 Clijsters
6 Swiatek
7 Azarenka
8 Mauresmo
9 Wozniacki
10 Capriati

3&4 is within margin of error, as is 8,9&10.

The problem with players like Barty & Osaka is their length of career. Yes, they won slams, but that's not the only thing that should count. Osaka at least still has the opportunity to rise into that list (and I think she will). On a list of peak years they would of course rank a lot higher.

Henin should be above Dopapova, Clijsters above Swiatek, and Barty above Osaka - but I'd also throw in that it doesn't feel right not to have Kvitova in the top 10, even with less slams than Capriati/not World Number One like Mauresmo.

She'd be in that range with Sabalenka, Capriati, Kuznetsova (?), Wozniacki, Kvitova, Muguruza right?

Henin is definitely the best player of the 21st century after Serena. But I could understand why an American could put Venus above Henin. Sharapova above Henin though is simply idiotic. There is no intelligent case whatsoever that could be made for this.
It's ESPN.
