I came across her last night. She was a walk on at Ohio State in the late 90s/Early 00s. She made it into Bucamaranga and didn’t realize it so she couldn’t play singles in Cancun.

She is getting a bit ridiculous at this point. <img src="https://www.tennisforum.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Laugh Out Loud" class="inlineimg" />

If I had to pick one of the happiest achievements of my life it would be my match yesterday! Let me tell you why... I got to play my second singles match in a pro tennis tournament on the same court as Maria Jose Portillo. She is ranked 403 in WTA in doubles and in the 600’s in the world for women’s single!! I cried tears of sheer joy on the court as it hit me that I am that good, and that I am playing along side this amazing woman. When I think about the journey it has taken to get to this point! Now the work begins!! I AM A WINNER sharing this victory with another winner! Maria and I spent the day together sharing our personal history, and how we both got to the same spot with two TOTALLY DIFFERENT JOURNEYS! I hope I’m saying this the right way..
Maria said “you have-to learn to love and respect the proses”. Wow... in AA they say acceptance is the answer to all my problems today, as long as I can accept any person place or thing or situation exactly for what it is.. then and only then will I find peace! I’m so at peace and in love with this amazing process!
She lost the match 60 60 only winning 13 points. <img src="https://www.tennisforum.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Laugh Out Loud" class="inlineimg" /> Her life story is definitely remarkable, but tenniswise she’s really delusional, almost at the Rosalyn Small level. At first I thought she’d be playing for fun, but she is buying MDWCs every week and talks about playing slams in some posts.

Some ppl on this site are just sad. If this woman doesn't affect your life whatsoever, then why come into a thread and hate on her. She's not high profile on social media, so it's unlikely that she is forcing these post onto your screens.....why bother? She had a ROUGH life and has found something that gives her purpose, excitement and pleasure.

And shame on the op for stirring the pot and instigating all of this, everyone sees you.

Seriously wtf?

I know that there are so many people like if you don’t win or succeed it’s all pointless.

But you have to be pretty good to claw back mental and play at her age regardless of results. Most you 40+ could never on your best day.
