Absolutely pathetic that not even 1 WC was awarded to an Indian player (Neha Uberoi is still officially American).
Is Elena Likhovtseva a silver-exempt player? If so, that explains why she got one.
Why on earth does Virginia Ruano Pascual keep getting these WCs? There's no reason why she should be getting them (especially in Asian events). :(

And to make things worse, the qualifying draw only has 16 spots. No wonder many Indians have decided to play the $10K in Indonesia instead.

quite pathetic, yes.
then again - Indian tennis really is mostly Mirza - it's still not a movement.

any idea regarding the Q players?

What are those special exempts?

Even funnier, who thought Marie-Eve would be top 12 in a tier 3!

I really really hope she can manage to keep her ranking that high and get directly into Quebec city's main draw!

the silver and golden exempts.
i thought you knew about those better than most of us.
if there is any need of explanation - i'll be glad to.

I think Vivi deserves that WC...Actually, I think she should get a WC into almost any tournament she whishes. She is, after all, a multiple Grand Slam winner.

Good luck Pitu!

Sprem would've rolled through this field some time ago...

Expect a few upsets here, specially from Azarenka and Kanepi :D

Let's go Sunitha!!!!

Yes... in doubles. ;)

She's getting WCs into singles tournaments.

It is true that nobody representing India was given a WC, Neha is pretty much treated as one, and she will most likely represent India in the future.

Lihovtseva is a freind of Mahesh Bhupathi of course, who's company Globosport gave her that WC.

And Ruano Pascual's WC probably was part of a package to get her to come to India and partner Sania in doubles.

Looks like Pelletier has withdrawn. :( If Myskina doesn't win this, I will have to cry...
