Emma's not entered St Petersburg or Dubai, and mentioned in her press conference she is likely to play either in the Middle East or Mexico. Two obvious options about where she might be going, but both mean she won't play for at least 3 weeks (unless she gets a WC into St Petersburg):

1. Go back to Dubai for training, get a WC into Dubai and then play Qatar mandatory before Indian Wells

2. Go to the US for training (maybe IMG academy in Miami), and then play both Mexico 250s before Indian Wells

Another option is she goes back to the UK for training and then onto Mexico but seems like that would create more jet lag.

From Torbens IG it looks like he has two daughters, who are presumably in Germany - not sure if he constantly travelled with Donna before? Might make UK or Miami more likely as there will be other coaches there..

Looks like it could be another month before she plays, but hopefully she can get a solid training block in.

It does seem like Mexico is most likely where she will be playing next. Assuming she will be playing in both the tournaments in Mexico, her schedule is going to be packed from mid February until end of March. Guadalajara, Monterrey and then IW, Miami.
Yes I think this is what she will do. I support this decision as it gives her one more week before she plays to finish off her pre-season training that she missed due to COVID (Guadalajara tournament starts a week later than Dubai) and also with those both being WTA 250 events she stands more chance of getting more matches, which is really what she needs this year.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just Doha or she’s still undecided. If she signed up for Monterrey, they would’ve certainly announced it already (as they did with multiple high-profile participants) and Guadalajara possibly as well. I’d prefer she goes to Guadalajara though as that’ll have a pretty weak entry list (due to having to compete with a WTA1000 same week).

1. Qatar is a non-mandatory event. The Premier mandatory events are IW, Miami, Madrid, Beijing.

2. IMG Academy is in Bradenton, FL, which is many hours away from Miami.

I also seriously doubt she's going to Bradenton to train at IMG. She's going back to the UK and at the earliest would fly to Mexico for a 250 event the 3rd week of Feb. I doubt she'll play the other 250 event that rolls into the first week of March given IW and Miami are both in March. My guess is UK until mid-Feb, then fly to Mexico for Feb 21-27 event. Then Feb 28-March 6 off week in Indian Wells to prep for event. Then after IW fly to Miami and train there somewhere.

British Airways already said they are flying her to the Masters (1000 level) events in California and Rome so that would be IW and Italian Open. BRITISH AIRWAYS NAMES TENNIS ACE EMMA RADUCANU AS ITS NEWEST GLOBAL BRAND AMBASSADOR

The articles seem to point to IW as the main target which makes sense, i'm sure she does want to go beyond the 2R.

I think the BA thing is assuming that she went from the UK to Los Angeles, as they don't fly from Mexico to LA.

She needs some match play though so hopefully they will fly her out to Mexico

She should definitely play 1 or 2 250s before the bigger ones to gain some confidence and match rhythm where she'd be guaranteed a high seed.

Emma should go home do her training and then go to Mexico and then to Indian Wells. :)

If she does play in Mexico, which I will assume for now based on their promotional flyers, BA would likely fly her to Dallas from London and then she goes to Mexico from there. So that would still be BA providing travel for her California tour and she takes a small detour herself on another One World alliance carrier (American Airlines probably). Of course if she skips Mexico she'd just fly London to LAX on BA. Hopefully she avoids Dallas...I've had to fly through there too many times and once with a cancelled flight in Dec 2019 and had to stay the night there and they didn't keep the heat on in the terminals (was 7 hours until the 6AM flight at least). I can't stand American Airlines.

99% sure Qatar isn't mandatory.

IW and Miami are though.
