I would rate the chance of this story bring true (ie Emma unfollowing this HRVY guy because he got a girlfriend) at about 5%. 😂

Looks like the original article was in The Sun which is one of our worst "news" papers, wouldn't believe a word they print and this time is no different - everything I've read (or heard in interviews with Emma) she was planning her career in tennis, not applying to universities, and her second choice of career was finance, not law.

 

I wouldn't trust half the stuff printed out there either, unless I saw it for myself.

There was an interview where she said she'd probably do something in finance. However, I saw another interview where she'd said she'd consider law if she wasn't playing tennis.

Of all the sightseeing she could have done after the US Open she chose the NY Stock Exchange, and in the video of that visit she was clearly interested and enthusiastic - I don't think she's just being practical.

 

There's an interview where I remember her saying she wanted to pursue finance/economics or something at university. Never heard the law thing.

I've seen a private account with a nickname version of her name, pretty sure it's her and that she uses it to interact with her friends and family. Her friends that she's pictured with on her public account all have private accounts.

Good spot Wobs! Not sure if I was her I would buy a place next to Heathrow Airport like in Slough for example - I don't think it's that fancy there and also the noise from the aircraft might disturb her visualisation exercises where she closes her eyes and imagines what it would be like to be at match point in the Wimbledon final.

It could be as simple as that her parents have said she can have £200 of her US Open prize money (which they are 'looking after' for her) to spend on redecorating her bedroom and is looking for ideas.

 

On a separate note Wobs if you get chance I would be very interested to see a full listing and categorisation of everyone Emma follows on Instagram. If you are too busy perhaps one of your assistants (i.e. teddy bears) could look into it?

 

Can't be done really - too many private accounts on there, and I don't recognise who they are.

Emma follows Alex Arnault, son of LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault (thought to be one of the three richest people in the world). There could be other tie-ups with LVMH brands in future (luggage, watches etc).

Emma has been a long-time follower of two upmarket lifestyle accounts - Gentleman's Gram and Only Classy - which suggests to me that Emma is interested in the fine things in life. IMG have already positioned her in this space with her endorsements (except Sports Direct, obvs).

 

I noticed that she and Margaret Qualley followed each other after the Met Gala (Margaret was one of the other Chanel girls), but a few weeks later both had unfollowed the other. Perhaps it had something to do with Kristen Stewart's nipple.

I realise that last sentence might be confusing to any newcomers around here.

 

She actually used to follow a lot more people prior to her USO win, like well over 200. I'm guessing she was told by IMG to cut down on the riff-raff now that she was hot stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if she has a private account with all her close friends and family on it, well away from the rando panty-sniffers.

I'm curious if Emma knows who Eileen Gu is. Eileen follows Emma on IG at least so Eileen knows her. She's almost a twin of Emma here in the US and is getting more coverage now that the winter Olympics is up.

Eileen is 18 years old and a champion in her niche sport as well (freestyle skiing). Her mom is Chinese, dad is American (although no info on him anywhere). She speaks Mandarin. Almost perfect score on her SAT (pre-university exam I'm guessing is like A-levels in UK). She went to Met Gala in 2021, too. She is a Tiffany ambassador as well. Also is represented by IMG (models). Scary how similar they are. Eileen is going to Stanford this year while Emma is delaying university. And more controversial is Eileen is representing China and not the US in the Olympics, which is kind of sketchy how she's able to pull that off without giving up US Passport...

Beijing will only recognize her as a Chinese national. But she is still an American to Washington ( possibly recognizing her as a dual citizen ).

I don’t know where to ask this, but where’s the option to upload a profile pic or avatar, do you need a special browser to see it? I can’t find it, or is just only for premium members?
