Seems China is not ignoring her

Her victory trended on Weibo; one hashtag, "18-year-old ethnic Chinese young player wins US open championship," has been viewed more than 200 million times, while the video of her Mandarin message has been viewed more than a million times.

I would think she called Anne- she called Andy Murray for a similar drop out. But it's not my business who she called or didn't call. I just think she could have made a post about it to explain her situation so that some in the media are not going around with what I believe are the wrong assumptions, thinking she did this for money. She's not good at public relations unfortunately- we learned this in Sept '21, lol.
According to many articles about Emma's withdrawal, it appeared Emma's team explained the reason behind the decision to the media.

I am wondering what these podcasts thought on alcaraz skips davis cup to play laver cup where he got huge money especially ttp. they seem very harsh on emma when emma does the same thing like other players.
Or Jack Draper playing the US Doubles/singles while injured just after signing a new sponsorship deal resulting in him withdrawing injured and also missing the Davis Cup.

The only thing I wondered about this whole controversy was whether Emma herself called Anne and explained her decision. I am sure it would have been tough/awkward for Emma, But Anne, the captain of the GB team would have deserved that much courtesy from Emma. However, I doubt very much she did that, based on how Emma has handled other delicate situations in the past. Anyway, Emma made the right decision imo, and as I said before, she will have many chances to represent GB.
I realize that Emma has matured and gotten smarter. So she probably has talked to Anne about her decision after all. Then it's all good.

And just to add. The US doesn’t stress about Coco not being there because she has other priorities.
Ah...we don't want Coco there the way she's playing, lol. They're like: 'You get yourself sorted out girl and we'll talk next year.' (y)

I was very surprised to see Badosa back and playing BJKC though.

The 22-year-old believes playing on the tour will be better for the long term development of her game and her fledgling partnership with new coach Francisco Roig.
Exactly what I thought. So why doesn't the Tennis Podcast have this information? I'm glad I don't listen to these podcasts regularly, getting misinformation. I'd hate to be a UK tennis player like Emma knowing all these people were out there in the media talking incorrectly about her.

If it was me, I would want to put out a personal message explaining my decision so as to avoid this type of conjecture from the blowhard podcasts and media, TV pundits and all the rest of them. Or maybe she 'frankly doesn't give a damn', lol. All part of the 'never complain, never explain' mantra. This was all fine and good 50 years ago, but in this age of media saturation you leave yourself open to speculation and conspiracy theories.

they just have double standards on emma, I always don't get ppl say emma gets much hate for her decisions, whatever she does she got more hate than any others it's not Emma's fault, it's the ppl who treat her in more harsh ways. just found this pic I once saved it explains how hard it is to be emma.

She has never explained any decision publicly. I find their attack annoying. I seriously doubt it was about the appearance fee. Otherwise she would never have signed up for the BJK Cup in the first place. They can sound very smug for people who’ve never been in her position.
To be honest, they sound in general a bit too smug for my taste. They take themselves a bit too serious compared to the their added value. Every time I listen to hem, I end up wishing they would take a page from old Top Gear or from most BBC entertainment programs, in which pompousness is gracefully interjected with total silliness.

Them pushing Emma has done this for a big pay cheque is disgusting. Nothing has happened has shown that to be true. It's quite obvious the tournament has given Iga a very big payout to be there, you just have to look at what she's doing for the tournament to see that. Emma has done nothing.

Also them acting like BJKC is this massive tournament and the most important for the big players to turn up to is a joke, hardly anyone knows about this. The way the tour treats this tournament tells you its not that important to them.

Will someone please post the PC here if/when it comes out? I'm really hoping to hear her say something about what happened in the second set when she was 5-1 up.
She wasn't up 5-1. It was 4-2 and she held serve to go up 5-2. Then Krejčíková held serve to take it to 5-3. Emma then served for the match and was broken. That made it 5-4 and both players then held serve until they reached the tie break.

Emma Raducanu was unable to take three match points as she faded to defeat against Barbora Krejcikova at the Korea Open. The British No 1 looked poised to set up a quarter-final against Iga Swiatek when she led by a set and 5-2 only for the former Wimbledon champion Krejcikova to stage a fightback and claim a 4-6, 7-6 (10), 6-1 victory.

For more than two hours, it appeared Raducanu would come out on top, with the 22-year-old showing fighting spirit to recover from a break down in the opening set, clinching it when Krejcikova sent down one of 10 double faults.
When Raducanu quickly recovered from dropping serve in the opening game of the second set, winning four games in a row, it seemed she was on her way to victory. But Krejcikova, who had made a series of poor errors, steadied and hit back, saving the first match point when Raducanu served for the match at 5-3.
Krejcikova’s revival should not have surprised her opponent given the Czech saved eight match points against Taylor Townsend on her way to victory in the fourth round of the US Open, and Raducanu was unable to capitalise on a 5-2 lead in the tie-break and then two more match points.
A double fault at 10-10 in the tie-break gave Krejcikova the advantage she needed, and Raducanu’s resistance quickly ran out in the third set after she had missed two chances to break for 2-1.

Tournaments and Petch talking about Emma playing more of them...
I am so glad she intends to play more on this Asian tour. I was really worried that with the way her matches in Seoul panned out, that she will pull out of some Asian tournaments instead of adding more.

I hope this means she found some good professional(s) in Asia to help her back, and she’s confident that there’s no problem with playing more.

Oh no. I got excited too early. :( Emma doesn’t look good in the videos of training in Beijing. Maybe she’s signing up for all these tournaments because she doesn’t expect to go far in any, so this way she can still get a lot of matches in. And not because she’s feeling great or has a solution to her back. :(
why do you say she "doesnt look good" in training videos?
