Lena is the runner-up at the U16 European Championships held in Moscow this week.

She was the 2nd seed, had a bye in R1, beat Adela Joldic 6-3 7-6(12) in R2, Noelia Bouzo Zanotti 2 & 2 in R3, Malene Helgo 4 & 3 in R4, Axana Mareen 3-6 6-1 6-2 in QF, (5)Anastasia Gasanova 3 & 0 in SF, before falling to Anna Slovakova in the final today, 0-6 6-2 3-6 :[

She won the title in dubs with Olesya!

Playing U16 Summer Cup finals this week. Olesya is flopping hard (lost all her singles matches), but Lena is saving Team Russia - she won all her matches (singles & doubles), and Russia are through to the final, after beating Belarus 2-1 in R1, and Spain 2-1 in SF.

Zhenya lost in straights to Levashova, and Lena fell to Vondrousova, 6-4 6-7(2) 3-6 - such an Olesyesque scoreline but it's great that she played such a close match against a top player :yeah:
