It's a great win for Elena!!! I believe (if I am right) the last time she defeated her fellow country girl was way back to 2001 in the Kremlin Cup's SF.... and who did she defeat??? Anastasia Myskina......

Elena always seem to have problems playing against her fellow country girls..... but not this time!!!
