Introduction
The purpose of the game is to guess each day which player will win each match in the tournament! Points are awarded for each correct prediction and a leaderboard is kept of who has the most points.
Submitting predictions
Prior to the start of play for the day (typically the night before), the matches for the day will be posted in the thread. People can then create a post indicating what their predictions are – this can either be done by writing a list of names of the predicted winners or bolding the names of your picks.
Predictions must be submitted prior to start of the first WTA match of the day to be valid. At the discretion of the organisers, picks may be accepted for the matches yet to have started if picks are submitted after the first match has started but before some of the matches have started. Try to use one post per session of picks – your original post can be edited if you decide to change your picks.
Scoring
In the first round of the tournament, for every match that day where you guess correctly who wins a match you get one point. Every round of the tournament, the number of points you receive for a win increases by 0.5. For example, in the second round you receive 1.5 points for a correct prediction. At a Grand Slam where there are seven rounds, that means that correctly picking the winner of the final gives 4 points!
Sometimes players withdraw from a match before it starts or retire during a match. In these situations, the following rules apply: -
A leaderboard will be published each day showing everyone’s total score across all days and rounds. In the case where two people have the same total score, the following will be used to decide who is higher on the leaderboard: -

Sometimes players withdraw from a match before it starts or retire during a match. In these situations, the following rules apply: -
- If a player retires during a match, then the match still counts. For example, if Player X retires against Player Y then if you predicted that Player Y would win the match then you still receive points for the match.
- If a player withdraws before a match starts and the other player receives a walkover then the match still counts. For example if you picked Player Y to win a match and they receive a walkover to the next round then you still receive points for the match.
- If a player withdraws before a match starts and is replaced by a lucky loser (this could only happen for first round matches) then the match is considered ‘null’/’void’ for the purposes of the prediction game and no person receives any points for the match regardless of who they picked to win.
A leaderboard will be published each day showing everyone’s total score across all days and rounds. In the case where two people have the same total score, the following will be used to decide who is higher on the leaderboard: -
- The player who has the highest number of individual correct predictions
- The player who had the highest number of correct predictions in Round 1
- The player who had the highest number of correct predictions in Round 2
- Etc
