why is andreescu more favored than former AO champion osaka especially after losing 3 times in a row <img src="https://www.tennisforum.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Laugh Out Loud" class="inlineimg" />
Osaka also lost all her RR matches last yr before winning AO. Don't be naive.

It is interesting that Serena (38) is twice Andreescu's age(19)! Serena is truly GOAT.

This year's AO QFists: Serena, Pliskova, Osaka, Svitolina, Barty, Kvitova, Collins, Pavs

I wonder who will have a random run like Collins this year

I can imagine it would be fitting Serena breaking the record in front on Court after all the recent press about her wanting a celebration this year at the Aussie open,

So I make Serena the slight favourite for sure.

I don't know what they are smoking while betting on Serena as the top favorite. If she couldn't win some this year, it's not getting easier next year. That's for sure.

The age generation difference is on display as Serena at 38 is a slight favorite over 19 year old Andreescu. Then Barty 3rd choice, with Osaka, Halep, then Svitolina, Pliskova, Bencic, Kvitova

What about Pova? Whom you rate very highly :eek:h: :spit:

This is good! If she wins 3 more majors she will clearly be 2nd best player of the 2000s, then can go back to promoting tennis on mainstream tv shows

They have Sharapova listed in the odds in that link. Maria is equal to Ostapenko & Vondrousova and ahead of Goerges & Garcia. Even longer odds are Venus & Pavs. All the men are listed also, Nole is favorite

How do people like Bouchard and Bellis have odds yet Dayana has none?

Serena, not sure now as the time passes by.
Didn't Andreescu have a knee/shoulder problem? I guess we will see when the season starts at the pre-tournaments. Let's see how Barty handles the pressure at home and been no. 1.
Osaka should hope that she doesn't draw Bencic once again in her 3rd title defence.
I think Simona may have a change here.

And once again Serena very likely won't win here because everyone is throwing the favorite curse on her. How many times in the last three years, that's 12 slams, the favorite won? Maybe twice, possibly not even that. Was Serena the favorite at AO 2017 or was Kerber? If the answer is no than it happened just once in at least the last 3 years. Maybe not quite a curse, but we're slowly getting there.

They have Venus rated below the retired Cibulkova.
Venus & Pavlyuchenkova are very long odds. Last year Pavs was up a set in the QF, only 2 games from the semis. Venus was in the final in 2017

Edit: Pavs was 2 games from the semis this year, 2019. And she's 100-1
