Already better than last year, they scheduled 2 dbls matches at crt 2 and 3 tomorrow. Last year none till quarterfinals methinks(ATP dbls so many, in contrast).

Even with Serenus withdrawing, that first quarter is a MINEFIELD. I can honestly see a top seed upset in R1 with how good Barty and Garcia have both been with other partners. Azarenka/Svitolina could be a solid team (plus two other great singles players in Bertens/Vekic teaming up). Plus Team Nasty have racked up a lot of wins at the end of last year, Brady and Riske too have made some small waves THIS year, and then you have the AO champs Shuaisur.

Just going on form, the bottom half of the draw looks like such a cakewalk in comparison to the top.

Praying for Barbie and Su Wei to go 3/4!

That's a surprise! They haven't played together in ages and I got the sense that Muguruza kind of dumped her as a friend (especially based on their Sydney handshake and what Kuznetsova supposedly said about Sumyk trying to isolate Garbine from having friends). Maybe they're planning on reuniting for the Olympics and want to get some matchplay under their belt.

Tomorrow though. Don't understand why they always schedule Stosur dbls matches at small courts: crt 9 will be jam packed tomorrow.

Muguruza/Suárez :grin2: long time! Hope this is for the Olympics too... but that would mean no Nadal/Muguruza tho

anyway... MJMS/Klepac lost 1st round...

Stadium 3 matches later yesterday plaued simultaneously with jam packed WTA doubles matches. Empty as hell, not a good fan service by IW. Can't get IN to those dbls matches, which is clearly a crowd pleaser. So had to stand all match during Plis/Gor dbls lol, peeking behind another spectator's head!
