The BBC have just picked out Harriet watching the girls' final. Wonder who knew who she was.

EDIT: she was actually in the Ostapenko (champion) camp

That's a bit odd, I didn't have an inkling they were friends. Although it's sort of ironic to think that Harriet beat Ostapenko here in the first round last year. :p

Harriet into the Sharm 10K final tomorrow, her second pro final and first since 2012 (lost to Voracova) if I'm reading her history right. She faces Strakhova, who routined her in the semi last week. She's also reached the doubles final (which she'll expect to win), which must be just about to start.

She won in the doubles final with her partner Anna Morgina! 6-2 6-1

Harriet has had two very good wins on the way to the final beating Sowjanya BAVISETTI (WR 598) before getting a career best win over Elena-Teodora CADAR (WR 366). ;)

^Yes, you're right it's been a long time coming to reach another final, well done :) but I think it'll prove too hard to beat STRAKOHVA. She is after all on a 19 match winning streak. The only way I can see her winning is if her serve is really firing.

Also last week Harriet reached the SF here with good wins over Caroline ROMEO (WR 509) and Yvonne CAVALLE-REIMERS (671) before as you said losing to Strakhova 3-6 2-6. Harriet also reached the double final with her partner Claudia Williams but unfortunately they lost.

A pic of Harriet and doubles her partner.

As nimble thought, Harriet lost the singles final. 3-6 3-6. Failed to break serve at all.

Shame, although expected. Great week though and should be enough to break top 700. :yippee:

Had 4 BP opportunities but couldn't convert any and her serve wasn't really firing - 2 aces to 6 DFs as opposed to 11 aces to 2 DFs when she played Cadar.

On the entry list for next week too, let's just hope Strakhova thinks 4 singles titles is plenty and goes home.

Far less immediately worrying than Eleanor's retirement, but Harriet also retired in her 10K R1 today (and in a winning position, too).

Just starting to string some decent results together, hopefully nothing serious although she did withdraw from the doubles. Could just be two weeks worth of Egyptian sun caught up with her.

Harriet is still down to play Barnstaple where it'd be nice to see her get a MD WC if healthy, of course.

Harriet has been given a MD WC for next week's 25K tournament in Barnstaple. :) So hopefully that means it was nothing serious in Sharm.

Having a good week in Sharm, beating Sandra Samir (former JWR 25) and defeating 4 seed Veselinovic (WTA no.464) 6-3 6-1. Plays former coach Naomi Cav next round. GL!

Harriet turns over Cav again, 7-5 6-4 this time, to reach the final. Third time lucky?

Also in the doubles final later today.

She won the doubles yesterday and is/was facing top seed Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (337) for the sweep, when, with Harriet serving for the match at 6-2 5-1, the scoreboard freezes... TBC
