Dokic wins 14-12 tiebreaker to reach quarterfinals

WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- Fourth-seeded Jelena Dokic won a marathon tiebreaker to beat Miriam Casanova 7-5, 7-6 (12) Wednesday and reach the quarterfinals of the J&S Cup.

Casanova held set points in each set, including four during the tiebreaker.

In another second-round match, seventh-seeded Anna Pistolesi of Israel defeated Jill Craybas of the United States 6-0, 7-5.


In the first round, 10th-seeded Tatiana Panova was knocked out by Sandra Kleinova 6-2, 6-1, and Renata Voracova outlasted Marta Domachowska 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

Venus Williams is seeded first and will be playing in her first tournament since losing in the fourth round at the Nasdaq-100 Open in Miami on March 23. She did play for the United States in the Fed Cup last week.
