Jelena Dokic has accepted the Prix Burgeoun awarded to her at this year's International Tennis Media.

The award, voted on by the International Tennis Media is given to the player whom the International Media feels is the most promising player in a single year.

The Prix Burgeoun is a prestiigous award and is also awarded alongside the Prix Orange (won by Arnaud Clement) and Prix Citron (won by Marcelo Rios for most diffcult player)

The Prix Burgeoun is also known as the Blossom Award and is awarded to the player that is most promising, friendliest and most approachable by the media.

Interesting choice, but not an undeserving one - congratulations to Jelena.

Congratulations also to Clement and his orange.

Marcelo Rios seems to have a monopoly on the Prix Citron ... I notice that he doesn't appear in the pictures to have picked up his award (maybe making an attempt at winning it next year already ).

Yes, she is very approachable to the media! I'm sure the Australian media would have something to say after she misses press conferences to 'pray' and her father goes around hitting reporters!!!

Hmmm. I like Jelena & I'm pleased for her. But she is an odd choice for this award. Clijsters was surely the obvious choice, with maybe Bedanova as another option?

Still, congrats Jelena!

Congrats Jelena! Wow! Jelena is growing taller and taller! I wonder why she won the award over Kim Clijsters or Justine Henin. It must have been a tough vote. Any of the three could have won.
