Saisai was very good.

Frustrated and annoyed the hell out of Kiki today. Bertens played a great first set but faded afterwards, just way too many errors in the end but understandable with the way Zheng was just getting everything back and just being so aggressive and intelligent in her point construction.

Back to the drawing board for Kiki. I feel like she lost this match by not going to the net. Considering she was primarily a doubles specialist before she broke through and became an elite player, I would think she'd incorporate that more into her game, but she seems content on being a reliable baseliner and extending rallies. If she went to the net much earlier in the rallies, she probably had a better chance at winning this. Zheng did a great job at that today, on the contrary.

Saisai has another upset win in Doha, plays Sabalenka next.

Bertens was very lucky to win the first set
Credit to Zhang for fighting back again

But lets be honest, she will be annihilated in the next round given how many break opportunities she's giving up. Sabalenka could be ugly

What in the actual f*** of all the f**** in the world. Excellent play by Zheng. Kiki's shots not killer enough to take the match over the finish line. Properly exposed today.

I had a feeling this could happen. Once shes forced to dictate and finish the rallies, it gets messy.

Kiki exhausted with the wind, herself, her opponent and the crowd. Bad day at the office.
Great match from Saisai

I see people use the words "great" and "excellent" for this Saisai's win and this is so funny. This was a really poor quality match. Seems like the wind made a difference. Zheng won only 21% on the 2nd serve, a lot of errors from both, mostly from Bertens, who was just too bad. The word "great" is not even close.

Well, considering those conditions you mention, I'd say SaiSai's 2nd set 92% first serves in (77% for the match) is pretty "great".

It’s hard to beat an elite pusher in extremely windy conditions.

An opportunistic and undertalented vulture like Zheng will always take advantage in these situations.

As if SaiSai is an elite pusher .....She’s just a good pusher . You want elite ? Look at Woz.

Bertens is such a mug sometimes.
She should play less tournaments to save some energy for the big ones.

after winning St Pete, she withdrew from Dubai in order to save energy for this week in Doha
